[ It's been a miserable two weeks. Miserable. Masaomi had gotten home from his gorgeous holiday with his beautiful mate and loved every minute of it, even if she was rather obviously sending selfies to her other mate every hour as part of a weird order and running up a huge phone bill as a result of that. That said, he'd even chimed into those selfies where she allowed it by the end, and he even built up a pretty notable tan!

And then he came home and more or less the second day back had the surgery to reverse his vasectomy.

And it hurts. A lot. It hurt back then and it still hurts now. And on top of that, the doctor said that he'd have a meeting in three weeks to see if it was safe for him to have sex, and warned him there was a chance that there might need to be another week of celibacy after that. He wasn't able to do anything the first week other than walk around the house and had been bedridden more or less icing his balls and cock periodically to recover. And after that first week, when the doctor told him he was cleared to go to work if he wanted, Masaomi decided he could work from home.

Not that you can necessarily do that in real estate, but he didn't want to drive. Which meant he was house-ridden. He decided to let Lisa handle everything at the office itself and he could review the properties and handle calls over here. [It stands to reason that in such a big house filled with so many different histories, circumstances, and goals, that a few things get pushed around. To Audrey it had seemed like their vacation had been a nice one, but pretty much immediately after that Ada was pretty upset - not to the extent where she felt the need to cause a scene, but clearly unhappy. So if anyone's been pushing someone out then it's definitely been Ada getting growly at Nariko, because Audrey sort of thinks that Masaomi'd want the latter around. Whatever's going on between Ada and Nariko isn't Audrey's business, she figures if they really go all out and fight she can sell tickets and ask Tom to play referee.

In the meantime? She gets Masaomi to herself, almost! That he can't fuck her doesn't take away from that.

Masaomi might smell the food before he sees Audrey, because it's still hot.]

[For the most part Audrey's just been the most eager to get Masaomi anything he needs, even going so far as to insist he stay in bed when he doesn't feel the need to stretch his limbs so that they don't ache from misuse. But she's done all of this in a practical, dedicated manner that probably highlights the extent of her feelings, and how deeply they run. She still hasn't forgotten how he helped her move out of her parents house, after all.

But today she's actually dressed up for the part, bearing take-out.] And how are you feeling today?

[Probably bored, irritated, and deeply uncomfortable, which is exactly why her own act is part genuine concern but also overdramatic schtick - really, more than anything else, she's trying to get him to laugh more than frown.]

The absurdity of that is not lost on him. He isn't quite sure where his mate is right now and he's not sure what's up with Ada either. Both of those are points he needs to address. Tom has tried to approach him for advice in planning airfare for reasons he can't even begin to describe and he's losing business. He's in pain and he hasn't talked to his oldest son in two days. Being bedridden even if he's not bedridden has him frustratedly out of the loop.

But that outfit makes him snort, and he sits up in bed, crawling over towards the edge of it ]

[And it's not like his mobility is super great, but he is able to move on the bed and around the house. Either way, Audrey opens the take-out and, honestly, it's Masaomi's favorite or whatever, largely because Audrey isn't the one who picked it out - she was just the delivery girl in this sense, but was allowed to take credit for it. So whatever might be comforting or at least lift his mood a bit, that's what she's ended up getting! Audrey drags over the little mobile table so he can eat comfortably.]

But he'll allow her to take the credit, a deeply nostalgic look coming into his eyes as he rummages in the bag to see not only was there soba noodles, but also of all things there was also some Japanese desserts in the bottom. He laughs at that outright, taking out the take out container and feeling for the disposable chopsticks. ]

It wouldn't be right for me to be out of commission, it's true.

[She reaches up to poke his temple lightly, but mostly does a good job of dealing with the bags and waste that tends to come with take-out. Considering that the extent of Audrey's knowledge of Japanese food is just sushi, yeah, there's no way she picked it out or has any idea why he's so genuinely pleased to go through what is there.]

You'll come back in a blaze of glory like last time! [Cue the dramatic, enthusiastic nod - but that falls away quickly too, because why should she pick a tone.]

Oh, no, no - she asked sometime around when Nariko and I were leaving on our trip and then by the time we came back she was out of town or something around when I got my vasectomy. So all things considered, I've sort of left her hanging.
