[Futurelandia] The Thanksgiving and Early December Post

[ It's been around a month since everything started to change. And frankly, a damn sure more things have changed even in that month. There's simplistic ones, such as Masaomi getting a vasectomy which even if he tried to keep it on the downlow, everyone found out about because of what a whiner he was for his week of medical abstinence and everyone felt after that for how he proceeded to fuck every relevant woman in the house and who would sleep with him out of the house into submission for the next two or three days. Everyone sort of had a rude awakening there.

But then, some changes were bigger and more serious. A new member joined there pack (Veroncia) not all that long ago, and it was much to everyone except some of the adult's surprise. Everyone had to learn their new pecking order and where she fit in with the rest of them. Masaomi and Nariko continued their rituals and continued their seeing other people, to mixed results from both. Audrey was hanging around the house more, though she hadn't had the recommended Talk with Masaomi about joining, despite making this something of a second home for her. And of course, Junko's training continued despite the week long hiatus from it.

Everyone was changing, and everyone was adapting. Yamato even had a sexy car now. And at the culmination of everything, a sort of milestone in the midst of everything, there was Thanksgiving, the lead up to it, and the follow up after it leading into December. A time when a lot of people hung out in one house, and then things got weirdly tense for a variety of reasons. God bess us, every one. ]

Masaomi didn't expect this gig and didn't have that much formal education going in, but combination of people skills, being self-taught, and taking some night classes saw him forge out an identity for himself. Now he gets people good prices, solid commissions, and owns more than a dozen properties he rents in the area as well. Not to mention ones he's sitting on for re-sale. All things considered, the man has a lot of pride in his job, and it shows on his face with the nod too.

... Nathan can't help but feel both jealous and thankful all at once. It's a strange feeling. He's got not issues with his career, he's very passionate, but seeing Nariko's trust just makes him feel a little bit - small. ]

[ She was his manager, after all. He could get caught up in things on the job ]

Ah, Masaomi, I told you about his girlfriend, right? The one whose also his manager! [She can't remember if she did or not! But now he'll know.

She looks to her mate and then her brother, and though she's determined to speak normally and such she also sidles a little closer to Masaomi. She can't help wanting to be close to him, especially when she still fully intends to be fucked at this table.] Are you worried, though? I mean, how long have you guys even been together? Will you be okay if she doesn't come over?!

[The more she thinks about it the more genuinely concerned Nariko becomes.]

I'd heard the name. [ Masaomi confirms this, at least.

But as for Nathan... he watches Nariko scoot, and sees Masaomi's hand reach over to brush at his mate's thigh in a gentle way. He frowns a little, but then puts the smile right back on his face and shakes his his head. Irina, they were talking about Irina. ... And he did love her. He did. He'd actually said as much to her a few months ago, before all of this. and before their mom died he'd actually briefly entertained the idea it was more than his sister, which this clearly this disproved and Irina had told him it would ahead of time.

... Ugh. ]

We've been together for five years professionally and three years personally. I'm a little worried because I'm also asking her to move in with me for the first time. [ Technically, anyway. He still lives alone in this Rome house even if on tours they basically always shared a bed ] So, I guess I can't help but getting jitters.

[ He says this like he's calm, but he honestly isn't. He's... well, he's not sure, but he thinks Irina would be excited to live together and not mind the proximity to his sister. It's more moving to the states. ]

[Of course she catches every little thing he tries to hide. Clearly some feelings have changed and shifted over time but she still knows how to read her brother. But he's going to have to deal with Masaomi touching her, she won't give up that comfort for anyone - not even her children.] Three years is a long time to be with someone, Yamato, and I can't imagine that it's easy to have a working relationship and a romantic one at the same time. Tell her how great it'll be here, there's a lot to do and become involved in, after all!

[And Nariko, as the sister, the Other Woman in one respect or a few, would be respectful. They'd be a couple and they would need space.]

Even if it does turn out a little badly, like you said, it's a test of dedication. We'll find you someone cute and ambitious and sweet if it really comes down to it!

[This is really just her way of being supportive, promise!]

I'll have to ask her over Christmas. We've got a really special night planned.

[ They would have a nice romantic date, watch their favorite movie together, exchange gifts... and then Irina would take the pill and they had nothing to do between then and New Years so he would fuck her as a slave girl hard enough to leave bruises on her. It would be perfect. He'd ask her in the midst of all that... which might be rough, but if she wants to move in, that would help, right? He goes a little starry eyed.

As for Masaomi, he dances on Nariko's thigh and - ] She could have a lot of fun with our pack too, I'm sure.

[ Well that snaps Nathan out of it a little, putting on a somewhat... confused expression. Not because he is Confused, per se, but more he's waffling how to respond to that. ]

Well! [Nariko, personally, had always appeared slutty but largely monogamous. When she had boyfriends in her youth she didn't date anyone else on the side, even if it was clear that the relationship with said 'boyfriend' was only sexual. Their mother had never advocated for pack or monogamous lifestyles, and Nariko had never pushed it one way or the other, either. Ultimately that means that her little brother's personal views are entirely unknown to her! But judging by his reaction she's guessing that he either doesn't understand what kind of pack they have, or that he isn't comfortable with the idea of his long time girlfriend messing around with other people.]

I suppose we'd have to see how Irina felt about that! After all, you two have been exclusive this whole time, right?

[This is leaving her open for the question 'so you haven't been?' but she doesn't realize that. Their drinks come, and she already knows what she wants to order, so!]

[ You people and your monogamy. Masaomi just plasters a small smile on his face and look down at the menu, studying to pick something out for his meal. Nathan doesn't answer immediately because the drinks come before then, but once his is in hand, he looks back at Nariko and...

He knew that packs didn't operate like that, he could have guessed from the other night that the idiot might have fucked things up. But even after everything else and after Roman especially, Nathan found it hard to picture his sister being- ]

We have, yeah. We're both too busy to mess around all that much either. [ That said, she was leaving it open so- ] You haven't?

[Masaomi stop not everyone has to live your way 8'l !!

But, shit, she's really ... Man. Well. He was going to find out one way or the other.] I mean, it's not as if we have whole other relationships! It's mostly just an ... Open sexual relationship! [There, that's a good way to describe it, right? And while Nariko isn't exactly nervous about explaining it, and she doesn't feel any shame or whatever, it does feel a little awkward to talk to her brother about.

Even though he'd cruelly rejected her.]

[ Whole other relationships... huh. The fact she needs to explain that makes Nathan narrow his eyes a little and then turn his gaze to Masaomi, to that idiot. Why would he let Nariko go off and do that?! Doesn't he know how dangerous that could be, and what's more, letting himself do that?! Why would he?! When he has her? And how much that might even hurt her?! There's some amount of fury in his eyes even before he reigns it in. But well before Nathan can say anything, Masaomi looks up and says- ]

I still appreciate your help the other day, Nathaniel.

[ Oh. Oh. So they are arguing about it. Or at least were. and here Nariko was looking calm, but was she really? He looks back at her, and then back to Masaomi. He wants to say "that's still bullshit" to him, but then she realizes... if Nariko really accepts that of him, it just proves his point right.

Really though? So how many do you both have?

Help? [When had they helped each other out in the first place? She looks between them both, knowing that something is off here, she's missing a piece and her brother is clearly upset about something. She wants to calm him down and just tell him it's not a big deal, but he moves on pretty quickly.

Is this something she should talk about with him?]

Oh! I mean, I'm kind of slow about it, so there's just one person I kind of see, it's not a big deal.

[She's lost her footing, she doesn't know what's safe and what might be pushing it anymore, and worst of all she can't tell where her brother's head is at.]

Mmm, and if we're going to count it that same way [ Because Nariko wasn't counting anyone in their pack if it's like that ] It's two for me... though really only one I'm seeing like that.

[ Masaomi was being honest here. Maybe too honest... so Nathan starts to ask "like that?" but stops himself, exhales, and tries to look less angry than he is. He doesn't even know what he's upset about right now. Well okay, he does. But still. Does Masaomi even know about Roman? ]

I gave him some advice he needed the other day.

[She wasn't counting their pack because they had the sort of atmosphere that allowed for that in the first place. It made sense in her head, okay? She toys with her hair a little nervously, and leans into Masaomi that much more because she wants something to hold onto, here. She does ask him, though:]

When you were out? [When they'd been fighting. ... What in the world could they have possibly talked about?] Well, I guess you two were getting acquainted long before anyone talked about moving!

[She's going to focus on the positives, here.]

[ That was Masaomi, who was brushing Nariko's side and-

And Nathan watches her twirl her hair. ... She- ... He groans a little, and he runs his hands down his face before going to sip his drink. He'd been trying to be so good, but in this context did it even matter? ... They were still siblings, so probably. ]

It wasn't a long meeting. [ That's Nathan. Ugh, that idiot. ]

It was profound, though! I wouldn't have made it without you!

[ ... He probably would have. But saying that just makes Nathan look at him balefully, because he'll just give Nariko reason to doubt if he keeps being that flippant ]

[Masaomi would have made it without Nathan's help? ... That's incredibly doubtful but whatever makes you feel better, Masaomi. Either way she can already tell something is going on here but honestly ... It probably isn't worth trying to figure out. She knows her mate is an incredibly interesting sort of man, and Nathan can be a bag of tricks all on his own. At a certain point it's just safer to cut your losses with them both.]

Either way! [Come on guys, new topic!! Don't make her do all the work here!] Let's all just be incredibly proud that we survived today. Soon we'll be going home, and [to her brother] you'll go back to your lovely girlfriend.

[ And her brother will know he had the chance to do it and he didn't fuck his sister. .. He doesn't know if he should be miserable or proud of that. He should be proud, right? Proud. Still, it's Nathan who holds up his glass first (which Masomi mirrors) and they clink them for a ]

[They were so good up until that reality! She groans a little, aching to think of what their mother might have stipulated. Everything she owned of value, including her incredibly ludicrous amount of money (and if Nariko would use such a word for money then it truly is an insane amount) was probably going to Nathan. It wasn't as if she had any control over Nariko or anything that was her own. She had the life insurance from her father's death as well as the money she got from selling Roman's engagement ring, it wasn't as if they needed more than that, anyway.]

Even from the grave she just wants to irritate me and everyone I love.

[... This can't get depressing. Are they ready to order? Their waitress is sort of lingering nearby.]

[ Yeah, way to go, brother in law... Nathan rolls his eyes at that, but he frowns a little himself. He;s worried bout tht, feeling guilty as well. But still... Well, they can order. Nathan waves the waitress over, and they all place their orders. Notably, Masaomi asks Nariko if she wants to split a salad in addition to everything else.

But either way, Masaomi is feeling a little bad for making it weird when she goes away. But it's Nathan who chims in with, ]

So, what are your holiday plans? Christmas, New Years?

We're spending Christmas with the pack, of course! [And now that they're over the total worst of this whole trip she has a lot more room to be excited for her favorite holiday.] I already finished buying everyone's gifts - except yours of course but I'll change that soon - and the tree looks so beautiful!

I think - You have something to do on New Years Eve, right? [Charlotte had kind of mentioned it.

... This maybe isn't the best thing to bring up, but!] Not that I'm very big on New Years, anyway.

[She is, actually, but Masaomi has plans and she won't make him feel bad about it.]

In my case I've got most of the gifts picked out and I did pick up my replacement beard.

[ ... This makes for an eyebrow arch from Nathan at Masaomi, both for the New Years quip and for the idea of Masaomi with a beard. The other man's facial features are very smooth and youth-kissed, both just due to genetic luck and being Japanese. Could he even grow a beard? (not really. Though he did try a mustache once) But Masaomi answers that in the form of saying "ho, ho, ho" which sees Nathan snorting.

Nariko does too like New Years. Nathan thus decides to go for an in- ] If you don't have plans yourself, you could fly out to my last concert and escort me back.

[ Masaomi frowns a little at that. He might have plans for the Eve, but for the day (or well immediate morning) of it, he did want to spend it with Nariko!! But at the same time, he did make those plans with Charlotte so who's he to talk. ... Not that he wouldn't cancel them in a moment if Nariko asked ]

That beard, I swear ... [Nariko happened to like her mate's beardless face! And she'd about chopped the attempted mustache off at the soonest opportunity. But it is Christmas and it wouldn't be that time of year without some Santa jokes and questionable uses of the outfit itself. But she does grin a little at that (bad) little joke, and how Nathan responds to it. For a second it's like they're all getting along perfectly!]

If it's in the evening that should be simple enough! Masaomi and I have a bit of a tradition in the early morning that shouldn't be interrupted but pretty much the rest of the day is clear!

[Right? They definitely go to the temple and probably get something to eat, too! But she could catch a flight after that and effectively make them both happy. She does want to go, but she won't skip something she's done with Masaomi for years, either.

Compromise is the key to all relationships. Especially ones involving multiple people.]

Ah, wait, is this on New Years Eve or New Years Day?

[ Temple's on Day. But if she's in Europe on the Eve, could she even make it back in time? And what's more, even if she left right after on the day of, could she make it over to Europe in time? Masaomi's trying to do the math in his head and Nathan just frowns a little before he shakes his head ]

Evening on New Years Eve. Early evening concert, building up to when people go and party afterwards.

[ Masaomi frowns a little deeper at that. She could be on a plane during the celebration of the ball drop? Or they could skip it... Hmmm ]

[Shit. She'd though the performance might have been on New Years Day so while it might have been a stretch and required her to leave incredibly early and, depending on what part of Europe it was, she could have made it if it was just the day, right? ... Probably not. She really did want to go to his performance, to meet everyone he had worked so hard with, and she wanted to be there as his sister.

But she had a mate and a family, so.]

I can't make the performance itself then, but I can still come and help you get things in order. [She looks at him a little pleadingly, trying to ask him to understand. It's not that she doesn't want to it's just - she can't not be with Masaomi on New Years day. Even though she always makes a huge deal about getting up that early she still loves to go with him.]

You and Irina are just two people, after all, and no one can pack up a house quicker than me.

[ Did Masaomi feel a little bad for this? Maybe. But did he feel some potent sense of pride for it? Oh, he sure did. He can't hide the small smirk which comes onto his lips, or the way that his hand on her thighs rides up further towards between her legs. she didn't have panties, right? ... No, too soon. He knows it's too soon.

Nathan's not dumb though, he sees Masaomi's smirk and narrows his gaze just a little before he focuses back on Nariko and puts on a pleasant smile! He was disappointed. He really was disappointed. But all the same, there's no helping it if she wants to be with her mate and her family. He shakes his head and - ]

That sounds nice, and I know I'll appreciate the help! And if I do, that means Irina definitely will because she's the organized one.

[She hasn't seen that smirk yet and Nariko's too busy feeling bad to really pay attention to it and hopefully it'll remain that way. Nariko hardly needs the reminder that this means she'll be alone for New Years Eve, which isn't actually ideal, and he'll be off having some romantic evening with Charlotte. She squirms a little at his touch but does nothing to stop him.]

What that really means is that we'll be telling you what to do! [Or something like that.] And you can show me around a little bit.

[He'd probably been traveling quite often but the thought was still there.]

So where is this final concert?

[ Masaomi asks this, getting past his smirk. ... Also he's allowed to have a smirk, okay. Still, he hums little ]

Rome. The thing's in Rome, and it's like it was meant to be, right?!

[ Of course, that means that Irina's primary residence wouldn't be packed up, but no one wanted to fly out to that small apartment she kept up in Sweden just to get going like that. Besides, he's pretty sure there's nothing there except stuff she got from her dead parents. So that can be brought over time ]

I look forward to being bossed around. [ And maybe it's her scent, but he laughs a little and - ] It might even be a little hot.
