gunslingerqueen: (As I move my feet towards your body)

I am, but it's for a silly reason.

[She's the older one here, so even though she's still on top of him and hasn't pulled off completely, it seems only right that she should comfort him before wallowing in her own feelings. It's sort of like putting on a kid's air mask before your own on a plane that's going down.

... Except that's not what you're supposed to do at all. But whatever.]

You have to understand that I didn't know which of my kids would become an Alpha. A year ago I'd have told you it would be Koji, maybe even Junko, if Yamato was going to be one then she'd still have something over him.

[He was, in that sense, an underdog.] As a result he's figured it out pretty late in life, neither myself nor Masaomi have really done anything to help him in that area. Honestly, I think he's too far along and too old to take any guidance from either of us. [That, and not all packs actively guided their budding Alphas before letting them out on their own.] Now he has to figure it out himself and I have to hope he stays on the right path.

[Because sometimes the best thing you can do is let a kid figure it out themselves.] He's testing himself with Charlotte, but you have to know your mother is far more intelligent and cunning than Yamato could hope to be right now. She isn't doing anything she doesn't want to, and she won't do anything that would jeopardize your relationship.

[Nariko shakes her head as if dismissing a narrative that might excuse Yamato.] That doesn't make it entirely right in the context of your friendship or why the four of us are even here, it makes sense to be upset but it's an explanation.
