I took a bunch of different tests last week, and then Emily took me to the doctor to confirm it, but she thinks I just went for my usual exam. I'm some months in. [What she really wants to say is that based on the timeline this probably happened within the general timeframe of their very first meeting. But it's still hard to react to that, so she keeps it to herself.]
This fall is my last year in high school, so I'm going to finish it out, even though it's going to be difficult. After that I'll get a job at a restaurant to earn some experience, but after a year I'm going to apply for culinary school.

Of course it doesn't help that she's talking rapidly enough to be understood, but so quickly that it might be difficult to figure out how to interrupt her.] I wanted to tell you first, Koji, but don't feel as if this has to mess up your life or anything.
