[A lot of incredibly weird things have managed to happen, but that shouldn't be a surprise by now: They're an incredibly weird pack, after all. While Nariko and Ada's fighting has become far more subtle, certain kids have become more serious about school and relationships, other kids are moping over the exit of their mates - a family reunion has ended. It's time to get back into the usual swing of things before it all goes to shit.

Audrey will probably make a decision about a thing or two.

Veronica is lil' fat by now, but she wears it well.

[Veronica laughs. And it isn't the laughter that dissolves into tears, either!]

I've moderately upset the flow of the universe, right?

[It reminds her of the first day they met and the kitchen, the days when she could still remain on her feet without too much discomfort. ... She really has put him through the ringer, and while some of it was unavoidable Veronica is smart enough to know that a good amount has been her fault. So they can be simple again.

[ Rambling as he embraced her? This was nostalgic (could it really be called that when he had known for her for less than a year?) even if there were notably many differences, chief of which is that he can feel her bloated stomach brushing against his own, and he just shooed some loser out of the room.

[ That was breathed out, because he knows he's inconsiderate, not necessarily compassionate, and generally just difficult. He knows his heart is a mess, where he can't decide how to be nice, or even if he should express it. He's sick of feeling vulnerable, and... And.

And that was a gross response. He's pulled to the bed easily, leaning his lip along with the pull ]

[She gets back onto the mattress and makes sure to pull him on or beside her - dealer's choice there because her stomach is a weird road block and she doesn't want him to be uncomfortable. But when they're marginally settled:]

They had this 3D sonogram thing at the doctor's office and it was so gross! There's no way our kid is going to look that bad!

[Her eyes roll so hard that it might be a miracle they were able to remain in her skull.]

[Hell, most of the time she doesn't want to listen to any of that either so it'd be nice to ignore the mountains of advice that they keep lobbing at them. But while it's tempting to sit back and imagine all the ways Koji would be incredibly helpful at her appointments, there's something a little more important to address.]

[ That would be far, far from the sole reason, but to articulate all the swirling sentiment that his stomach has to swallow and that his brain can't catch up with sounds awful. So he's not even going to bother. He groans a little, and he nods, giving her approval in the form of nipping a bit at her chin. He smirks, and he considers her words for a moment.

The whole organized punishment thing was more his dad's thing. The whole meticulous nonsense was his elder brother's.

[From anyone else that might feel like a patronizing question but it's exactly because Koji differs from Yamato and Masaomi in this way that she doesn't feel that it's a trick. Mostly she just considers her own guilt and the possible upset she might have witnessed in Koji when she had first realized he was there.]

[Not because it'd turn Koji on or anything but it did feel like she deserved it.]

[ Hmmm.

Well, if she did feel that she deserved it, then he would be happy to oblige. It's not like he wasn't filled with his own frustrations, it's not like he didn't have his annoyance. [That's a valid concern but she also sort of loathes it just because it's another reminder that she can't do the same things - her entire existence is zeroed down to housing this child in her body. But that particular frustration doesn't have a place between them, but his do - it's not like she wouldn't listen, but then Koji's not always the best about getting it out, huh?

[ The thing is, the moment past. yes, he does have a lot of built up annoyances and aggression, but where his father and his brother were the sort of exact out the proper way to do things, he was much more a creature in the moment and if he wasn't in the moment with punishing her, would he even be capable of... it? Of giving her what she wants? Koji groans himself, and then leans back down to kiss her briefly.

Contradictory to what she asked for, of course.

But at least it shows some sincerity. ]

[It does! And in her own way she gets it, which is why it's not a thing she pushes even if that might be the most logical course of action. Nah, she just kisses him back and comes up with:]

Is there anywhere you've ever really wanted to go, Koji? Like, Brazil or something.

[Because somehow soccer and Brazil go together in her mind, so why not want to go to Brazil when he's dedicated himself to that sport so much?]

She did ask to be punished, and while he does briefly second-think it, because he's pretty sure that you shouldn't push the buttons of a pregnant woman, that the physical pain she wants could not be replaced by psychological pain (and even if they did, that would be unethical) but in this moment, he decides he can lightly push it. Needle her, and maybe rev both of them up back to where she wanted it. And so he remains close to her, brushing her face gently. But then he snidely replies, ]

I'm sure there's a lot of hot Brazilians you could get up your ass too.

[ But no, okay, lets answer sincerely too. ]

Bazil would be pretty cool. I also wouldn't mind seeing Japan. [ He says this while waving at his facial features. Him and Junko got it more than Yamato, who the older he gets the more Arab-ish he looks. ] But I'd like to go see Germany. Or France. Like those spots blasted up in World War I. Or Hawaii, it always looked cool.
