[In truth there's a lot Junko doesn't know about her mate either, they haven't spent traditional time together and probably won't have much opportunity for that. But she can't label him as uncomplicated, necessarily, maybe because she can't think of anyone as being uncomplicated. There's probably quite a bit about Rin that's difficult and complex, she just might not ever see it in those contexts.]

I'm glad he's so different from dad and you and Yamato, though. You're all a lot of work.

Are the three of us really that similar in the first place?

[ Him and his brother and father, that is? He narrows his eyes a little at that, leaning back a bit. He doesn't do the headtilt thing, at least. He instead looks a little quizzical - and might look critical if he wasn't as babyfaced as he was, even if that's not his intent ]

Similar enough that there's no mistaking the relation.

[Yamato's a little more emotional, their dad is a bit more well mannered about the whole thing, and Koji's just a bit rough for the time being. But they're all incredibly forceful people in their own rights, unyielding and weirdly needy without the usual vulnerability that can follow. it's actually kind of amazing.]

[But that's a rather emotional topic and she doubts that Koji wants to get into that.] Anyway, it's not like it's a bad thing. Different folks, different strokes.

[ Nice to ... be enough. That's a topic that he doesn't want to get into mostly because he doesn't really understand in the first place. Even aside from personalities at play and Junko's personal issues, Koji connection with Veronica didn't supply him with that. Rather, what he got out of it was someone just for him, who liked his attention the most. It's something that he could know was attentive and special to him.

If he was capable of self-reflection in a way most fifteen year olds are not, he might recognize those aren't all that different.
