[Midlandia] Just One Note
[A series of events occurred which were incredibly important and ultimately life changing.
But frankly her attention span was always rather limited. What really mattered above all else was that she and Nathan were free, and it didn't require Vergil's scolding or leaving the country. They had been adopted into this pack with considerably minimal fuss. They had a roof, food, and a way to get to and from school. The best part was that there was no one to hit her anymore, no more getting thrown left and right into walls or furniture, and Nathan no longer had to hear all the yelling and insults. They could be living in a high class sewer and Nariko would still be happy.
And while she'd made her gratuity very clear to the Alpha she's been otherwise quite normal! Nariko had survived the state of things because she knew how to control herself, how to present properly. So ever since they'd been given their space she'd gone about meeting everyone she could, being both agreeable and fun, while Nathan clung to her side the whole time.
Lately, though, he's been feeling a little more like himself. On this particular day she's sprawled all over the couch while Nathan watches some movie directly in front of her. If she's supposed to give a single crap about her tiny shorts or tank top then ... Actually, no, why would she? It hasn't occurred to Nariko to dress or act differently, especially because there's so many women. Besides, she's kind of idly watching it with him or occasionally toying with her phone, and really she'd practically beg for something fun to do. Ugh.]

Is surprised.
He's surprised that this feels as intimate as it does, and feels as hot as it does. She's close up against him, all over him, and he's drowning in her, overwhelmed by this feeling. He tilts his head and lingers more on her lips, his tongue edging out a little bit more. Was she- was he?
The light breeze of the sea comes in from him, but right now, he's loving that this is happening ]
no subject
... One day she'll tell him, in fact of the two she kind of wants to tell Mikado everything, because it's awful trying to shoulder the whole thing on her own. In a lot of ways she's doing a shitty job, and rather than throw a fit she's got actual, like, people around to help her. So she might as well take advantage of it, right?
Poor Mikado, he'll never get rid of her, or her cloying, needy scent.]
no subject
He's...
He knows this is too much, but he wants it to breeze around forever ]
no subject
Completely fine.]
no subject
But.
It's fine, right? Fine. Mikado's tongue now works against her own in earnest, the waves of the sea now crashing against the "shore" that is her own scent and her own body. His hands slide up her neck to dance in her hair and around her ears. He plays with her helpfully, and he loves the feeling.
He's... going to get too far in ]
no subject
And he really needs to because while her scalp is a little more sensitive the brush of her neck and along her ears is new and interesting enough to make her shudder. This is an awful lot like being drunk, she realizes, and suddenly it's a great idea to touch him, skin on skin, so hopefully he wasn't protective of this shirt because she tugs it up just to get her fingers on him.
If there's such a thing as too far in then yeah they are definitely probably heading towards it.]
no subject
You guys can fuck back in the house, you know?
[ But Mikado doesn't break away because.
Why would he... ]
no subject
Huh?
[Oh - the house -- Nathan. Nathan.]
R-right.
[They have to go inside even though every part of her is howling to be touched, paid attention and then giving it back out again.]
Let's - yeah.
[Go inside.]
no subject
But...
Okay... Okay. He's breathing hard now, but Mikado nods, fumbling around a bit blind because he needs his glasses. Nariko's got it in her purse. So. ]
Hahah, well, then, onward!
no subject
Y-Yeah. Come on! There's still gifts and stuff!
[Her voice warbles a little as she tries to put herself back to normal, smiling and heading towards the front door!
Man, she really has to watch it around these two.]
no subject
Yeah, gifts...
[ He shouldn't sound disappointed, shit, shit. ]
no subject
Even though it takes a near incredible effort she gets to the door and opens it, tries to think of kittens and blankets, things that aren't at all sexual.
Once they're inside-]
Okay, so, who starts?
no subject
[ That's Masaomi, going in the door right after her, with Mikado dragging himself in third, still more than a little bit red in his face and trying not to pant. Okay, no, he can do this, he can control himself...
It's not...
okay, he nods, agreeing with whatever Masaomi just said ]
no subject
[She kind of wants one of hers first! But she doesn't have it in her to worry about anything like that either, so once they get to the living room she sits down and then opens her purse. After the smallest bit of digging she pulls out .... A holding case for glasses! It's incredibly sleek, compact, modern looking in a deep and gorgeous blue color.]
S-So, when my cousin Rami was younger he was always breaking his glasses, and aunt Janelle was always upset because she had to keep replacing them. So his dad - Hossam - he made this! You can throw it off a bridge, take into the pool with you ... It's completely water and stress proof! When Rami got eye surgery and moved away he gave it to me ... I'd always try to take it from him and play keep away, so it was kind of a nice parting gift to remember him by.
[It's an embarrassing story, and she kind of stutters through the end.] U-Uh so? I thought it'd ... Be useful, mostly, but the color reminded me of you and it's slim enough to keep with you all the time! So. There.
[Happy date gift, Mikado.]
no subject
Oh that's... that's enough to snap Mikado through his being horny right now. The young man inhales sharply, and he accepts the holding case, looking down at it for a long moment before he opens it, closes it, and then looks back up at Nariko. He smiles at her, really warmly. That said... it's too much, isn't it? It seems like way too much for the first date, doesn't it? But he nods and, ]
I - thank you. Isn't it a bit much of it's like that...?
[ Masaomi though, nudges Mikado and shakes his head ]
It's a great looking one, man.
no subject
I mean, it's just ... Rami's really great at all that smart stuff, too. Programming and designing and thinking with numbers, you guys would probably get along perfectly.
[She really doesn't get it at all.]
no subject
Thank you.
[ And Masaomi, then, smirks a little to put a hand on his hip and arch his eyebrows somewhat expectantly, in constant to Mikado's more obvious humility ]
apologies for this tag it feels so lame but I apparently could not help myself
[It's a lot, actually, because Rami was one of the very, very few people Nariko had been close with, her aunt and uncle had been decent to her. If not for how far out they lived, and if not for Vergil's influence ... Well, anyway.
She rolls her eyes at Masaomi, but she rifles to get his gift as well.]
I'm going to go ahead and apologize because this one doesn't have as cool of a story.
[But out comes!!! A yellow scarf! It's incredibly bright and looks brand new.] Back home, Lena was my best friend, and we got into an awful argument. She's sort of like Mikado except she gets really angry easily, she's difficult and introverted, never likes to go out and do anything. And she was always trying to keep me out of trouble ...
[Doesn't this sound kind of familiar?]
We didn't talk for six months, and I felt like I was falling apart. But one day she just gave this to me and said it was my color, so I should have it. To this day I have to convince myself that was some form of an apology.
[And now she hands it over.] Masaomi, I don't think I've ever met someone who takes up as much space or attention as I do, so it's only right you have something that keeps drawing people's attention to you! Besides, it's way more your color than mine, and Lena'd probably agree with me.
[So there you go.]
r o f l no that's amazing I love it.
The Blue Sky has perished, the Yellow Sky will soon rise...
[ And then laughs at his own "joke," which Mikado actively groans at and rolls his eyes. ]
You know, I think it is my color. A shame it doesn't really smell of NariNari though.
no subject
Ahh, you do that, too?
[...... This is almost like having a conversation out of order, neither of them could know how fond she is of taking peoples cloth items and ... keeping them like some kind of weird scent hermit.]
It's not like I couldn't wear it for a little bit and give it back!
no subject
Still... Masaomi bushes his finger along the edge of the scarf, inhales, and he shakes his head ]
Alright, if you're offering.
no subject
Sure! Just give it to me later.
[After all, it's weird to give someone a gift and then immediately get it back so ... They can put some space between those two acts!]
Alright, you both suffered through mine!
[... Should she be asking why he wants it to kind of smell like her? It's a comfort thing for Nariko but that doesn't mean it's the same for him.]
no subject
[ Masami can't seem to make up his mind what he's going to call her. Oh well, he thumbs along the scarf one more time before reaching down to the little bag he shoved the picnic supplies in and nudging it towards Mikado. Mikado corrects himself into a more neutral, pleasant expression and reaches down into the bag for him, rummaging around for it. As he does, Masaomi starts to explain- ]
Eto... I feel like we need to make a little story for it now. What's a good one?
I'm not sure it really needs a story, Masaomi. We-- well, we just wanted to make her feel welcome.
That's a good place to start, though! [ And Masami snaps his fingers as Mikado finally finds it lightly rollowing his eyes but smiling. He's put the glasses case in his pocket now, and hands Nariko their own gift. It was short notice for them too, so it's not like they had a ton of options, including the idea that Masaomi could go out and buy something ahead of time. Instead, they had looked around what they owned and assessed what would be good.
And so they hand her a digital picture frame, one of those ones which can flash a collection of images. Mikado looks sheepish and explains, ]
Masaomi actually got this for Christmas last year, but he never worked out how to do it... Anyway, the frame can display a bunch of images in a folder, so I figured... we could keep adding more and more to it. Like the ones we took today, those can go in there.
[ Masaomi nods ] And right now, it's got one of me, one of him, one of both of us, and one big family photo with the pack as a whole. Buuut consider that a placeholder for when we get a new one with you and Nate-kun.
no subject
Obviously there'd be no use in something like this if they weren't ready to accept her into this pack. It makes all of her stupid concerns and her paranoia feel silly - but that's for the better.]
It's perfect.
[A placeholder picture of her - well, her new family, right? Her eyes mist up a little bit, but she couldn't shine any brighter.]
Thank you!
[And without any warning they both get quick, sweet kisses.]
no subject
They both shiver a little bit, and the young men start a bit, blushing some. That said, they also swallows, nod, and put a hand over her chest ]
No problem, Nari-chan After all, you're one of us now!
[ Mikado nods ] Both you and Nate-kun.
Well that too, but I meant part of us three!
