[Futurelandia] The Wonderful Christmas (and maybe into New Years stuff too)

[ Their pack's Christmas tended to be one which was full and chaotic, despite the fact that there were increasingly less children in the house as Yamato and Junko (and yes, Koji too) all grew to maturity. In some ways, this was actually more "kids" than had been in the house for it than in a long time, what with their new additions.

Still: Masaomi, Nariko, Ada, Sullivan, Emily, Octavio, Tom, Yamato, Junko, Koji, Veronica, and Audrey - Twelve people with at least one gift for everyone else, often times more in the case of those who were more generous or had deeper pockets or more to impress others with. The sheer number (even if it had grown over time) is probably what prompted them to set up a grate tree in one of the living room spaces which was probably meant to be a formal dining room and then lay out all the presents from everyone wrapped up under it andt hen sprawled out for a wide area around it all. There's chairs set up in a circle around the room to give everyone room to sit and the first one there (Which if, of course, Masaomi) brought bags for the wrapping paper to go into a recycle.

Also Masaomi has on a santa hat and a fake beard. Both of which Ada picked out years ago, and he wears mostly out of tradition. It's similarly out of tradition that he got up at the ass crack of dawn to sit in the room and eat some rice before anyone else got up, wait for them all to filter on in here usually starting with Ada or Sullivan or in recent years his eldest son so people can start to make breakfast and be ready. But either way, breakfast and present opening in the morning! A white elephant gift exchange game in the afternoon! A big dinner in the evening!

Christmas is a time of togetherness, where there has to be some structure, but there's a lot which can happen beyond all that and often did. Movies watched, songs sung, and even if this year of different and strange for a variety of reasons... well. It was still their day, and everyone would enjoy it. ]

[.... Why the fuck are they all clapping. The look Yamato witnessed falls away rather quickly at their antics, she keeps the hat on, but:] You can all stop, now. [It's an order, in her firm, stern voice which is usually reserved for the children. But sometimes the three of them, plus Masaomi, are really goddamn stupid.

Across the room .... Nariko's really spent most of this whole period just leaning on Masaomi or occasionally shifting to pay attention to one thing or another.] Not as many as you'd think, and certainly not in the same manner. [She'd made Junko and Audrey matching dresses, given Emily a new sweater - she'd been very tame about her gifts this year! Which was probably a good thing considering the leaps Masaomi was making in that department. She does, however, take this opportunity kiss him again.

As far as the Idiot Trio is concerned! Nariko got Octavio a few books in Spanish (one of which was her favorite and more than a little steamy, there'd be a note requesting that he read it to her for 'practice' and all that), a thermal mug, and a seashell she'd picked up from her hometown before they left. Junko got him a set of lizard magnets, and shirts. Ada and Emily bought him gift cards to his favorite places to eat, and a plush lizard as his gag gift for the year!

Sulilvan got the whole series' of his favorite old cartoons, some with limited edition memorabilia from Nariko, along with a new matching pens, and new silk ties. Junko got him some clothes related to the aforementioned cartoons, while Ada honestly got the man some porn and sunglasses. Don't ever say she doesn't have a sense of humor!

Tom got a bevy of gift cards so the man won't go hungry for ages. From Audrey, specifically, he got two new, rather fancy and flattering hats. Junko got him wristbands and the watch was from Yamato, of course. Veronica got him Star Wars shirts as well as some of the comics, and Nariko got him ... A plane ticket. One for him, and a note pointing out that the other is for Shin. As soon as he gets time off he's got a 'dude' getaway ready and waiting for he and his friend.]

[ All of them have by now opened at least a few of these, Namely Tom's gotten most of his gift cards out and he's been hording them together as if he were some sort of gift card overlord. Oh, but he is glad to not go hungry. All of them have different moments to pause in the midst of their openings beyond just generic thanks. For sullivan, it's when he gets the porn and sunglasses and--

... And despite Audrey being on his lap and his budding boner (or perhaps because of that) he laughs in a flustered sort of way and more to cover it up than anything he puts on the sunglasses and tries to do a fonz pose which doesn't at all work for him in Adas direction. Audrey, free free to stop in. ] Heeeeeey.

[ Octavio's point of excitement is the novel that Nariko got him, and even though his hand is on the one which must be Masaomi's, as he flips through the novel and reads Nariko's note, he makes sure to make eye contact with her and then wipes his head, as if he were pushing sweat off it. And for the room at large, he throws out, ] < I will have to make sure to study well. > [ In Spanish. ... And he sounds way hotter while doing his native language than he ever does in English. ]

[ And as for Tom - it's the hats. It's Audrey's gift and - ] Oh man, girl, really?! I'm going to make these look good!

[ And in fact, he goes to fix his hair so he and put one of them on. (he has yet to open the plane ticket)

As for Masaomi, though, he's just waiting for any of the three to get to his gifts for them. And he does it by way of holding Nariko closer giving her a curious note - she had been studying and practicing hard, did she not have any good ones she wanted to see the results of on a creator level? Also he wonders if he should have gotten more a gift for Joshua beyond a box of white chocolates because he heard he actually likes white chocolate. He told Nariko to hand it off, and he similarly got a small gift for Charlotte and Lisa. ]

[Audrey just quietly puts Sullivan's arms down after a few seconds of baleful staring from Ada. Stop, Sullivan just -- Shh. Enjoy your old shows or whatever, Audrey will pretend to listen if you want to go on about them! Although her attention does shift to Tom as he gets the hats.] Obviously! I wouldn't pick anything for you that didn't make you look even better!

[He gets a wink and unlike Yamato's attempts she manages it just fine. Nariko can't help grinning at that.] We'll probably end up practicing together. [She's a lot slower, choppier, but she's at least understandable - Octavio's still got her beat no matter how rusty he might be, and his tone is far more exciting but that's what happens when you speak in the mother tongue! ... Unless it's Arabic.]

The one thing I really want to see hasn't been opened yet, that's all.

[Because it's Masaomi's. She bought him two full piece suits, new ties, cufflinks, and shoes included - the whole gamut, one set in a rich black, the other an eye catching mix between black, off-white, and his ever iconic yellow. But the last one - she'd started working on it since she signed up for classes, and was still unbelievably terrified that he might not like it. In that sense she was more the nervous creator than the excited one, she could only feel anxiety until she saw the reaction one way or the other. She's also gotten him first editions of his favorite books, no matter how much hunting down it took on her part, and some sillier books along the lines of jokes or general weird humor. Of course there was still one last gift but she'd have to leave Masaomi to go get and ... Eh. That can be put off for a while longer.]

[ Come to think of it, Masaomi hadn't opened any of his gifts. ... Nariko hadn't really opened much of hers either, right? It seems that other than Veronica's, the two of them would be last. The Alpha, though, briefly looks around the room to see who she might have meant--

Oh, wait, it was him. Wasn't it? His cheeks color under the beard and he shrugs against her body. Okay, okay, you win. (Also he thinks her Arabic the few times he's had a chance to hear it sounds sexy thank you very much. ... That said the Spanish there wasn't bad either. He should learn Spanish, how hard could it be. Oh well, at least he has his Japanese! ... that no one else really speaks well at all. ]

Yeah, I bet you wouldn't. [ Tom says this and gives a somewhat throaty chuckle, spinning the hat on his head a little before he's got it on just how he wants it and then gives his own little hat tip pose to Audrey, then Emily, and finally, somewhat accidentally, to Octavio. Mostly because Octavio clearly has hit on the Alpha's gift for him. ]

Oh no, oh nononono -- this isn't-

[ That's Octavio, and finally, he pulls out...! A flash drive? There's also a note in the little box, but - ]

Afraid so, my man. [ That was Masaomi, and Sullivan leans over to look took, and he (and therefor Audrey) are close enough to read the card. Apparently, on that flash drive is the full discography of a band, including a recording of one of their concerts. ]

How could you have this? I do not have this-

[ and Masaomi shrugs ] I knew some people in Arizona. One of my brothers lives out there; he's the one who saw the concert.

[No one speaks it well, sure, but Junko would be a very willing student, Masaomi. Anyway! Audrey goes left and right because she still isn't ready to give up her perch, but she doesn't get the big dela about the flash drive or the band or whatever. Her brows raise and she asks the question that the Kida kids (plus Veronica) are too distracted to even care about.]

You can usually buy discographies and stuff online, what's so special about this one? [She doesn't mean that unkindly. Masaomi's gone out of his way to give really awesome gifts so there has to be something, she just doesn't know what it is. And neither does Ada, who takes this opportunity to go over to Masaomi and Nariko. Among that whole pile of gifts is one of the two Ada got Nariko, and she pulls it out here, essentially asking the woman to go ahead and open it now, even though she and Masaomi keep waiting until the end - maybe because the kids would be mostly distracted by then, right?

Nariko looks at it and shrugs.] I'll open it first.

[Ada nods but - she doesn't leave, either. She has to sit on the arm of the furniture to pull it off but she stays next to her best friend, and Nariko wraps her free arm around her.]

This is-- it is the discography of the band my older brother formed in college. They never digitized anything, it should only be on cassettes...

[ Masaomi chimes in with - ] One of the members converted them to CDs later and those are the mp3s from it. I've also got most of the cassettes, but... shipping, you know. [ And he shrugs a little, to which Octavio blinks... and then he smiles. And then he thanks his Alpha in Spanish, running his finger along the flash drive.

... Most of the adults will know that Octavio's older brother is dead, and has been since before he joined the pack. He flies out to Arizona every three years or so to go to a mass family grave visiting party. Sullivan and Tom, aware of this fact, don't open their own gifts just yet. Or at least, not Masaomi's. Tom did open Nariko's and sort of breaks the moment by going - ]

Wait, what the fuck?!

[ That's an excited "What the fuck," by the way. Examining the ticket and the notice and - what. what. ... Also Sullivan finally works up the courage to put a hand atop Audrey's head and brush her hair a little. He hasn't opened the last of his gifts either, so maybe that should be pointed out to him, he's still got Masaomi's and maybe anyone else's who needs specific mention

And Masaomi glances over at Ada - ah, are you going to open that one now, Nariko, or wait a bit more? ]

Oh. [Audrey ... Had no idea about any of that, of course, and now she feels kind of shitty for being so blase about that. Depending on how close Octavio is she reaches over to give him a hug, and it's a rather big, loving one despite her size in relation to the fully grown man. But before anything else can really happen there's Tom!! And it's Nariko's turn to explain:]

Rami has a great vacation house and he's more than happy to let you guys put it to use for a week. You've been working really hard, Tom, and it's been a while since you could hang out with your friend, right? You both need the break.

[And everything else that might come along with it or be implied or occur it entirely up to him. But just being able to give the freedom of it while acknowledging how dedicated Tom was - she figured that was about as poignant as she could get. But - after catching Ada's expression Nariko shrugs and, okay, she can stand to open one, right? So she does, peeling it off carefully just because she's not in much of a hurry. The box its in is quite plain, and she lifts the top and inside is a royal blue corset. The same one she'd mentioned on their unfortunate trip to Nariko's 'home'town.]

I decided that you'd look too beautiful in it to not have it. I'm sure Masaomi will end up appreciating it.

[Nariko, in turn, doesn't say much of anything at first. She traces the heavy fabric and boning underneath, it's sleeveless and rather harmless looking when laid out flat, but it'd inevitably hug every part of her figure. And push her tits up like nothing else.]

Is there a reason you can't appreciate it, too? [She had promised Masaomi, and come on, the best way to endear a woman to sex was to buy her sexy clothes. ... Or maybe that was just Nariko? That was. Probably just her!]

[ Guess that means it's Sullivan's turn. He opens up Masaomi's present at the same time that Tom, gingerly putting down the tickets goes to open up his own from Masaomi. And what's inside of them... ]

Oh wow.

[ Both of them say it more or less in tandem. (Also Audrey did you leave Sullivan's lap for that hug?) but all the same - Octavio returns that hug and pulls her in close, appreciating it. It's nothing to apologize for, she didn't know anything about it. Hell, most of the kids might not necessarily know what's up with him and his family. Still, he keeps that close and he kisses her on the cheek.

Anyway! Tom and Sullivan's gifts - Tom's gift is pretty straightforward. It's a bottle of pills, a high powered painkiller which may or may not be legal, and then a well stocked first aide kit under it. He grins at Masaomi in a sheepish way before hiding the pills and nodding, understanding (Shin does get beat up a lot. Okay he does most of the beating up himself, still)

and Sullivan's gift is... Well, he's got a ring there. It's a ring with the sigil of the fraternity he was in during college. And he smiles at that, but at the bottom of the box is something else! And it's --- ... Oh. It's a handful of little cards which are signed by Masaomi which give Sullivan full right to demand favors from other people in the house. He flips through them, his eyes widening, until he gets to the last one, which Audrey can probably see if she's still there, and while most of them were quite indulgent, the last one reads:

"Sully, you're as much one of us as anyone, you don't need me to order people to help you or gratify you." ]

Oooh. You should, Ada, she'll look quite good in it.

[ Masaomi isn't sure if they mean that threeway or just threm going at it themselves. Both of them sound good for him, though, and he looks as thoughtful as one can with a beard on up at Ada ]

[She didn't leave his lap completely! It was a brief departure so that she could squeeze Octavio and then she came right back to her rightful spot for the next hour or so. Mostly it just means she's there to catch sight of those free favor excuses and ... Man, she hopes none of them are about Junko, or that if they are it's nothing the other girl wouldn't already be comfortable with. But she does read the last one, and she pokes Sullivan's face.]

See! I told you! [And then she goes ahead and takes a real kiss from him.] If even Masaomi believes in you that much then clearly you should believe in yourself, handsome!

[And across the room Nariko tugs at Masaomi's beard.]

I think it'd work out best if you were both around to see it! [So: Three way. Definitely a three way.] Unless, Ada, you'd prefer Veronica have all the fun!

[Ada, for her part, looks as if she has no idea what's going on, she's clearly missed something here. Sure, she and Nariko had been getting along better, though there was still a fair amount of emotional distance, but she didn't think it was the kind of progress that would warrant - that meant they could --

Fuck it, you don't look gift horses in the mouth.]

No, I think you both have enough energy for me, too. [A slightly awkward response but she was trying to find her balance in this ... And appear less shocked than she felt.]

Mmmmaaaah, Ada, if anything, I think we're both more likely to be overwhelmed by our corseted mistress here.

[ Also wow, rude, don't tug the beard. It's not even secured that tightly, so that tug actually slips it off his face. He falters and tries to get it secure again, but he laughs it off as he does it, his hat tilting a little on his head. ... Is that everyone's gifts? That should be more or less everyone's gifts except the two of them. Maybe a handful of stragglers

( like, for example, Octavio being the one that got Emily a remote control BB-8 toy but it also says "I get dibs on first joyride of it" in the little card that goes with it. Because he really wanted to get that for himself. But. It was christmas. So it should be a gift. ... Call it selfish. )

Also, in Sullivan land, he actually blinks at being called handsome by a very pretty and young girl like her, but at the same time, he coughs and adjusts his glasses and - ] It's not like that. [ It was like that, if Masaomi is singling him out like that. That said, the kiss is welcome. He has messed around with Audrey.. a lot. The fact she was a toy and now had a collar to prove it was the liquid courage for it, despite how that incident with Junko went a while ago. So. ]

Oh, but is it just us now?

[ That's Masaomi blinking a little, looking at Nariko and their gifts now. Both for each other and from everyone else. ]

[The 'mistress' part gets a laugh out of her. But there are definitely stragglers here and there: Audrey finds the box that has her matching dress in it and she'll be opening it soon. For the note Emily can't help asking, "So you'd rather ride the robot than me?" because if he's going to be selfish then he doesn't get thank-you sex. That's just not how Emily's world functions, Octavio.]

It's completely like that, don't lie. [Mostly because it irritates her when people go through that kind of effort when they could just as easily tell the truth and deal with whatever was in their way. But she's in a wonderful mood and Sullivan gets to benefit from it because she decides to turn a single kiss into a genuine make-out session, though a brief one. Christmas gift opening isn't for sex or orgies. Those come later on in the day.

Nariko finally sits upright and nods.] Seems that way!

[Sooo! She gets started! Emily got her two different pairs of high heels to add to her obnoxious collection, a necklace with Leo pendant, and an Alice and Wonderland-esque outfit ... There was an explanation behind that one that Emily kind of waves off, "We'll talk about it later, it's a sex thing." Which ... Doesn't help anything make sense but hey, Nariko isn't going to complain. On top of the corset Ada gave her a new music box and a new yoga outfit. Audrey had decided on a little alpaca alarm clock! It's all very cute! But she hasn't gotten to her kids, or her mate's gift(s) just yet more because Audrey had really gotten her some random stuff and it was taking a little bit to unwrap, okay.]

[ In terms of Nariko's other gifts: Yamato obviously got her that ring, and he got her nothing else largely because that just cost a lot of money okay and he was stretching himself thin to begin with. Koji got her...! Star shaped nipple pasties. Okay so that's only the first thing, he also got her an astrology book which apparently comes in different editions for different signs and it's the Leo version. (he got his dad the same book but in the Gemini edition. Sue him, he was a little lazy there). All these other people getting numerous gifts for people is stressful, for the record, but Sullivan gets her three items - the first one is a flavored lip balm for her in a flavor he knows she's at least okay with, a music box, and then a little card which says "the grandfather clock should ship within the next two weeks, holidays." Tom got her a gift card to a nice lingerie store she likes for a hundred dollars because he was going to pick something out and he knows he wouldn't pick anything as nice as she would. Plus a hundred dollars is a lot for him, okay. And finally, Octavio got Nariko a bracelet which has an inscription on the inner ring of it which reads "a woman more beautiful than the morning sun" in Spanish.

And then there's Masaomi's. But those are secret/for last.

And as for Masaomi's gifts from the Idiot Trio and his boys (who he opens first): Sullivan got him a first edition English printing of Dazai's No Longer Human (he couldn't find a realfirst edition, okay) and a gift card for a shitty bar up on the north end of town which is an inside joke Masaomi laughs at (it's the one Nariko and him had public sex in that the bartender got involved in, and the whole house still gets discounts there anyway). Tom got Masaomi a stuffed corgi. Because doge. The collar of said corgi says he can save it for something special later and also has a gift card for the book store. Octavio got Masaomi a bracelet which matches Nariko's (sort of) which is a bracelet that reads (again in Spanish) "A man who is as wise as the stars" - which Masaomi needs to ask about to him or Nariko). Koji's gift is mentioned above there and of course Yamato and Junko went halfsies on that tablet, which he is visibly excited about.

( so what did everyone else get him? fuck this is a long comment ) ]

It's a little like that. But you're too young to tell me off for that, come on. [ He needs to be a little cool! That's Sullivan though, putting his foot in his mouth at the lull in the midst of the make out. He does that a lot. (Incidentally, that make out inspires Koji to grab one of Veronica's tits in a cheeky way as they all sit there, and Yamato shifts a little with Junko still on him to watch Mom eagerly as she begins to open things.)

ALSO OCTAVIO- ... he sighs and shakes his head to reply "No, no, I could not possibly pass that up. The first ride of it is yours." But he suspects he already missed out for being selfish on the card. ]

Man, everyone outdid themselves this year.

[ Masaomi comments this with some awe as he gets through his stuff (ignore he did more effort than most previous years) ]

[Emily was the sadistic fuck to get Masaomi a genuine joke book, to which Junko groans horribly. Ada got him enough sweaters and new pants to last him at least the next six months (she’s a very practical gift giver, thank you very much), Junko did go half on the tablet but she also got her father a pocket watch because didn’t those look cool with suits or something? She also got him a framed version of their group picture, which is of course meant to go on his desk at work. Audrey got him a hat in the style of a baseball cap and it reads ‘Pack Dad’, it’s hand finished much like Koji’s bra to Veronica, but Audrey’s work is straighter so it almost looks professional! It’s mostly a gag gift. Her more serious gives include gloves that allow easy texting, and some ear clips she thought he might look cool in.

On one end of the room Audrey pokes her tongue out at Sullivan and settles against him because if they keep going they’ll probably end up having sex and that’s still a no right now. She does hold his hand though. Emily pats Octavio and doesn’t tell him that, no, he hasn’t screwed over his chances. She keeps her new BB-8 in her lap and pats Octavio’s shoulder gently.

Veronica doesn’t object to being touched, though her reaction is more pleased than aroused, and Junko has no desire to let go of her brother just yet - though she did make a rather high-pitched, pleased noise at the sight of a corgi. Even a fake one.]

What irony. [Nariko’s waiting for Masaomi to get to hers, of course, but in the meantime her hands fall on a little box. She opens it very quietly without too much fanfare, mostly curious. She kind of thinks this is a joke, too, because. Come on. It has to be. Which, y’know, it’s not not at all.] Yamato … [How did he even afford this?] This is - Yamato, this is too much!

[…. But she stares at it anyway and is very clearly in love with it to the point of being misty eyed.] I’m grounding Junko for telling you about it in the first place! [… She’s graduated to putting it on. At least Junko got it from somewhere, right?]

[ For the record he actually reads out the first joke on page 13 of that book for the whole room. Because of course he did. He smiles at Ada, and then everyone else in turn as he goes. He tosses Audrey's hat in the air, catching it and then looking down at it with a smile. It's cute. The rest of those are cook, man.

There's a lot of snuggling going around this room, isn't it? It's cute. Even if koji is honking the other girl's boobs but - eeeeh. Chances are, knowing their pack, once they all finish everyone will go and disperse. And fuck like rabbits. So Masaomi's not too worried about it, but it's about as Nariko open's Yamato's gift that he's getting to the ones Nariko got him.

Man, these clothes are great. And the book-! He's actually about to thank her for the book when she first reacts and- ]

Oh shit. [ That's Masaomi, seeing the ring. And his eyes...

they light up. Because that- that is the obvious sort of challenge he was waiting for. And it's only cemented with Yamato saying, trying to sound casual - ]

I--- just wanted to ... You know. Impress you.

[ Even with Junmo up against him he can't manage it. ]

[Of course he does, and pretty much half of the kids groan except for Junko who just rolls her eyes ... She also thought it was kind of funny and she's trying not to laugh stupidly. There's a lot of general affection, yes, although the atmosphere shifts a little as Ada goes wide-eyed and Emily whistles. It's not a diamond ring or anything but, goddamn, that thing looks pricey and Yamato got it for his mother? That - Yeah, there's something of an implication there, even Emily can't shut out a suspicion or two, given that Yamato occasionally had the brief whiff of an Alpha.

Nariko, for her part, doesn't answer him at first. It fits perfectly on her right hand, on her ring finger, a mirror of where a real engagement or wedding ring might sit. And the truth of it is that she doesn't think Yamato's trying to do anything with this, unlike Masaomi or Emily this isn't a sign, in her eyes, that he's trying to butt in or stake a claim, though the practice of doing that through gifted items isn't beyond her. Men challenge each other in different ways, and she wasn't exactly a stranger to being a little fought over. But this was her son, and it was okay that he didn't feel that way about her.

It didn't lessen the meaning for her. So she sits it perfectly on her finger before sliding away from Masaomi for the first time. Junko moves out of Yamato's lap as their mother approaches, knowing better than to get in the way, and it's not that she simply leans over to kiss her son - she takes Junko's place entirely, straddles his lap and pushes him back a bit with the force of that kiss. She takes her time with it, holds his face in her hands before deciding to tug a little gently at his hair, by now they've messed around enough that she knows how to get under his skin with something this basic, and that's her goal.

When she pulls away Nariko's pretty damn turned on, and though she did her best to avoid it some of her scent has very obviously leaked out, but it's much more concentrated, primal than usual -- Masaomi will recognize it from the very first time they met, when he looked at her after punching their old pack mate for her.]

I'll be sure to thank you very thoroughly, that's just to hold you over.

[And then she gets back up, leaving Junko a flushed mess, Veronica's shocked and confused and attempting to stall some of her breathing, and Audrey ... Is very impressed.]

Well. Fuck. [And that'd be the blonde as Nariko goes back to Masaomi's side. Oh, he opened the book she got him!! That's good.

..... She really wants to be fucked and it's taking a lot of will power to control that, but. They're about done with presents. She can manage.]

[ In that moment Nariko gets up from him Masaomi feels two things all at once, and the people who manage to have their eyes off of Nariko and on him get to bare witness to it (does anyone manage to do that?) - he watches his mate pull away from her, watching as she walks over to Yamato, how she pushes him down and kisses him. And most importantly, he smells her. He smells that scent from her, not at all like how it usually is. It's not the cloying, demanding scent of before, it's the scent that promises that if she gets fucked, she'll be theirs entirely. It's a siren call, something which makes every person in the room either move towards her in anticipation or move away from her in fear of what that actually means. Time seems to slow to a crawl, and Masaomi actually glances around the room to see how everyone in turn handles it.

Sullivan seems to recoil. Tom does too. Octavio looks interested but then scoots in towards Emily, who is the closest woman to him. Koji is openly panting with a look which is as much attraction as it is terror. Masaomi finds himself curious most of all how Yamato or Ada handle it. (though he does, briefly, smile a little at Audrey's reaction). Yamato...

Yamato's personality is awkward, a little bit uncertain. The man can't manage to handle Nariko when she comes onto him, turns him on and makes him horny enough all in one moment to have a throbbing hard on just from the kiss itself. Really, his true response, something Masaomi wonders if Nariko sees, is the spark in his eyes. There's a mad look in the boy's eyes, a deep seated crazy which has boiled far under the surface for years, following Nariko's ass when she walks away with a look which demands absolute submission, and it's one he still has when he first glances back at Junko.

... Yamato provoked that out of her. And Nariko provoked that out of him -- and Masaomi... he's jealous, he's alarmed, but he's excited. His blood boils, and a moment Yamato turns his his gaze to his father, as if he was going to ask if this was okay, the boy is met with a look he's never seen out of his father. His father's eyes are wide and his pupils are dilated. He knows that it's impossible, but he swears that his father's eyes in that brief moment look more like a cat's than a man's. Yamato is filled with terror in that moment, an overwhelming feeling that he not only will lose (was he--) but he might actually be physically harmed. But then, just as fast--

Yamato actually smirks. It's not a look he would make, or a look Koji would make, but it's something fierce looking, and though it's motivated as much by how horny he is to how scared he feels, but his scent shifts, filling the room to match with the small leak Nariko had to assert his command over everyone in the room, asking them to swear loyalty to him with his scent. It's one that people had smelled before, but also different, and might've actually totally overpowered the gifting moment if not for the fact that Masaomi releases his own scent.

... His own primal, untapped scent. Something he didn't realize he had until that moment he had beaten his way through a lot of his packmates in order to claim his former Alpha. Something he didn't know he could solidify until he had this house, and it's the scent everyone in the room will have smelled at least once, the feeling of being utterly overwhelmed by another individual, one which made you know that you swear everything to this man. And while Yamato's has a taste of it, Masaomi's is greater for now, enough that everyone in the room probably finds their minds going inadvertently towards wanting to let Masaomi fuck them senseless.

And just as quick, Masaomi lowers his scent, and Yamato, cowed towards inaction... tries to. He manages to get it back to his own normal one and tries to keep it in. And the Alpha stands now, holding the book up to Nariko before they sit back down, smiling. ]

This is a really thoughtful one. and did you make any of these clothes?

[ His own gift... could it even stack up to Yamato's. He wonders that for a moment, but an Alpha can't doubt, not at a time like this. It's probably why he sweeps his mate up into his arms once she's back to him ]

[Veronica is terribly confused. These aren’t the sorts of politics she’s used to so while she has a decent enough understanding of what’s going on she’s still thoroughly unprepared for it. One second she wants to fuck her Alpha’s mate, and a dozen dirty thoughts fill her head up and she doesn’t know where they came from, didn’t imagine that she could even dream up such things in the first place. But then it’s Yamato, who is all warmth and excruciating arousal, but their Alpha is incredibly worse, he’s so much stronger that it feels like an unbearable force thrumming through her body. … Veronica doesn’t even realize that she’s keening until some instinct in her head the sense to bury her face in Koji’s neck and effectively suffocate herself with him. His reaction isn’t beyond her in the least, but she doesn’t know how else to make it through the whole power exchange.

Audrey wasn’t much better off. Boring monogamous people don’t do this weird tribal animal shit so she, like Veronica, is thrown back and forth between three people, three different approaches, three very different Alphas all at once. The only difference there is that she doesn’t really know how to deal with it in the least. She’s incredibly wet all of the sudden, her breasts ache and her skin sings with the need to be touched but for some awkward reason she’s just still, uncharacteristically awkward. It’s a good thing Sullivan’s keeping a hold of her, right?

Ada and Emily are the only two who manage to exhibit a bit of control which is no small part due to their respective ages. What’s funny is that Ada is more openly needy in the beginning, when it’s Nariko who dominates the room, if even briefly, and she calms for Yamato into a lull of obedience almost - but it’s not sexual. With Masaomi it is, but only to a different degree. Emily is effectively the exact opposite, and both reactions say just as much about preference as they do personal emotion.

Junko’s significantly more screwed over then all of them because she has no preference. She loves all three of them, loves to be fucked by all three of them. So she gets the somewhat unlucky honor of practically drooling with need, struggling to control it when they’ve all finally calmed the fuck down. No amount of training could have seen her tackling it the right way and she’s visibly excited as well as apprehensive when Yamato looks at her, then.]

[Nariko … She saw it, and didn’t see it. It was a fact that she witnessed but not one that she could unpack in her own mind just yet. If she did that then she might not have come back to Masaomi, and that was unacceptable. Right now the best way to deal with is to stay as close to him as possible so that’s what she does, trying to close up the parts of her that want to be reclaimed, mated with all over again. Really, this was what had made her young adult life such a pain in the ass, when she was young she hadn’t possessed anymore control than Veronica did. When she was turned on her scent wasn’t the thick, unquestioning scent it was that over the top, basic variety. It had taken her a long time to get it under control, so it’s ironic that even now she has a little trouble centering herself. Masaomi’s more than welcome to help her with it, though.]

[ Masaomi, perhaps not unexpectedly, manages to keep everything in order. The response he gives her was one with affection, experience, and genuine affection. Anyone else in the room was background noise to him right now, centered his world entirely on his mate... his mate who he needs to defend, knowing now that Yamato was as much (probably more, unless they had some hidden Alpha in them too) of a thread as Nathan. He had sensed Nathan was a threat to him immediately, but that was psychological. This was biological, and in many ways, he put more stock into that.

... Most ways. Right now, though, he grins ] I'm going to look good in that yellow suit though.

Masaomi's got three gifts for Nariko. The first one is the shallowest of them and it's ... a new bikini. An incredibly expensive bikini in an incredibly attractive pattern which'll make her look like she could be Ms. Universe. It's shallow, but there's something lodged into the cup of the thing - two planes tickets for them to fly out to Providenciales. Just the two of them, for sometime in early January after New Years is done and perhaps more selfishly around the time Nathan might fly over if he was quick. The second was somewhat less shallow, and it's the most sentimental of the novels, and one he clearly would have needed to have been working on far longer than any other gift in the room - hell, it would have needed to have been started long before they even had that talk back around Halloween which led to this open relationship. It's a self-published novel, written by him. It's entitled Love is a Leveler and the inside cover dedicates the book to her, calling her the love of his life. It's possible the dedication and some last minute editing happened since that first one. It's a romance story which is probably way too high mindedly wordy for what it is, but filled with anagrams for the both of them going through a whirlwind romance and eventually settling down together. It's not quite them, more idealized, but the shades and the passion are there.

Not that you can tell all that at a glance, of course.

And the third gift-- ... I'll reveal in the next comment because I don't want to make another novel myself and her last bit is hidden anyway ]

She doesn't notice the dates of the flight just yet but she will later and there will be a little talk about that. Right now she can't refrain from kissing him, and it's only a degree more controlled than how she'd been with Yamato.] I can't believe you.

[And, in truth, for as expensive as she was she'd have been over the moon with just that: A trip of their own! But the book is something else entirely and she doesn't know how to handle it.]

I've always wanted to write something of my own, to add to the canon, you know. And so I did what all the greats did, I wrote what I know.

[ And honestly, given it's his first book and he self-edited it, there's going to be no doubt dozens of typos. There's going to be run on sentences and plot points which really could have been cut, given his penchant towards rambling about things which don't matter. There's going to be superfluous characters. But it felt important to make the push to finish it the moment that he talked to her on Halloween, and the moment they had that talk at the pool. To reaffirm something in himself, more than anything. The dedication though, he didn't write that until they got home from the trip with Nathan and Amelia's grave, and shipped it out to publish a promo copy that same day they got back.

In some ways, it's nostalgic, but the more interesting and weird part of the gift is that there's a digital watch down there, counting up. It's counted up sixteen years and a few months, days, hours, and seconds. Given she's a math genius, she might be able to connect that it's counting up from the moment that picture was taken. He had to fiddle with it (or well, get someone else to) in order to get it set up like that but... ]

That one's more for both of us than just you, sorry.

She'd felt better and safer in those days than she had for most of her childhood, eager for the moment Masaomi returned home. It doesn't take her long to work out the math of the clock itself, though it's reverse counting does throw her off for just a second.]

You always were unfairly creative. [The same person that was a tiny little thing in this picture was no fully grown, a man in his own right. And he'd been relatively prepared to jump on her less than twenty minutes ago. What Nariko takes from that is that everything just goes by too quickly.]

[Is he going to make her wait, torture her? She doesn't know if he's gone back to normal or not, and the idea that he has isn't as comforting as it should be.

Nariko has to consider hay question, and the fact that she does is enough of an indicator. Her loyalty has never been questionable, for all the good it ever did her, but now she does look at their son, recalling that look, the one he clearly inherited from Masaomi. Just the thought threatens to shift her chemistry again, but she looks away from him. She wants to go to Yamato, but she chooses to kisses Masaomi. She's staying with him.]

[ Koji isn't hard to drag off, and really neither of Tom or Octavio, though Tom does spare a glance at the blonde in the room and Octavio does spare a glance to Nariko (even if he knows it's way, way, not his place right now) and then to where Ada vanished too. Sullivan similarly wonders how and where Ada slinked off to so fast, but when his hand is brought right up onto Audrey's tits and he knows his erection is throbbing against her crotch, the older man mutters something to the effect of "well alright then" and despite wearing that stupid hotline bling sweater, he makes no effort to leave the room, instead just squeezing her tits then and there in a way he's pretty sure she'd appreciate and leans up to kiss along the upper edge of her new collar.

Yamato is the most real and present threat he's ever had, other than himself. And that's ... it's his son. It's his son, and even if his son was messing with the internal chemistry of both his mate and his pack, how could the Alpha not be excited. Alphaship was not necessarily hereditary (certainly, Koji and Junko showed no signs of that natural aptitude towards it) but to know that his son, his firstborn, the thing that drove him and Nariko together - the absolutely primal terror which curls up his neck and triggers his fight or flight instinct (which is very much fight with him) when she glances over at Yamato is enough to make Masaomi's strength feel like it triples. It's probably because of that, and the kiss that follows, that Masaomi literally pick up Nariko so they can go - ... somewhere else. He obviously doesn't have shame enough to not fuck in front of whoever else is left in the room, but he wants to savor his mate, and he can better do that away from the newly formed third Alpha in the house.
