[Pokelandia] That one which isn't focused on Masanari
[ Rin has been on his Pokémon journey for the last five months. It's not exactly the longest journey ever, but for a teenager who didn't exactly have a plan when he set out other than wanting to catch up to his twin brother, with whom he's battled several times and still has a record that shows more losses than wins, it certainly feels like a long one. Certainly long enough for him to train up a reasonably strong team and to get used to things like sleeping outdoors when he's out of towns and cozying up in a Pokémon Center when he was in a town. The life of a trainer was being frugal, especially if you weren't a Pro.
Then again, there's still a lot you can do even without being a full Pro, which is shown by the fact that the teenager, through many hard battles, has probably seen a little more than half the country, hiked over a mountain, and earned three gym badges this far. In comparison to some legendary prodigies he's working at a moderate pace, but then he wasn't really aiming for the League Champion position and he wasn't really necessarily out to be the Best at first.
But he did want to be the Best in his family. But that's a whole other thing he's not really sure how to explain to anyone else. Rin's starter was a cute little Shinx who he began his journey with, and who in the aftermath of their climactic second gym battle actualized into a humanoid as a result of their celebratory bond. That was on of the proudest moments of his life. It's not necessarily rare for trainers to bond with a Pokémon to that extent, but it's also not necessarily common, and that gym leader had ruffled his hair and told him good job. Aside from here, he's caught maybe six or seven other Pokémon, of which three are in the care of the people running the academy he used to go to school in, his connected PC system. One of those Pokémon is Junko.
Junko is a beautiful and somewhat vain (or at least, he sees her as such) Sylveon who he caught after a fierce battle while hiking through a mountain range past a certain City. He wasn't able to fight the gym leader there who was supposedly away on business, but he did shake hands with the leader's son and promise to come battle them again some day. It's been about a month since then, and he's taken to sleeping against her as a pillow (at her suggestion) when they are camping outside, while many of his other pokemon prefer to rest in the comfort of their balls.I leave you to decide how Audrey sleeps
And so... one morning, following such a rest-- ]

Junko, meanwhile, is a little reluctantly to pull away from him but apparently she has to, especially to try and figure out the sweater which ... Does not go well immediately, her arms feel gangly and she can kind of get them in the holes and then her head is stuck at an odd angle and her feelers freak out because they're temporarily smooshed in and it's. A feat. ]
I don't know how! [She pulls on his shirt, putting both her hands on his arm and squeezing.] You're, uh.
[He was before too! But now it's like ...] ... Clothes are a good idea.
no subject
But Rin, despite the fact he should be tired, his actually deeply energized, helping her get the sweater on properly and pulling the feeler out from the fabric to get them out - there. He's pretty sure he's got it. And he tugs a bit at each of her sleeves and... there! He's in a somewhat rolled up by way of pulling a sweater off it T-shirt and shorts. It's not that cold if you ask him they're in a temperate climate. But he did also have a throw blanket over him, which he now puts over her lower half ]
Okay! I think it's like instinct? But I can get ya' clothes... from the next town over. [ A beat ] If stuff's open now.
[ And he'd need to leave her which she might not want - Audrey transformed in a town, it was easier then. ] Eeehehe, sorry it's inconvenient. I'm glad though.
no subject
[How she's supposed to do that with a blanket to cover her new human parts - which are apparently not meant to be stared at by everyone - is kind of a mystery, but she's got the same determined look that she often has before a particularly intense battle. If he wants to argue with her he should really expect a fight, and to also pry her off of him, because Junko's already wrapped both of her spindly arms around one of his.]
Y-You can't leave me with Audrey, she's going to sleep for the next four hours!
[Hey, look at her getting the hang of this talking thing!
Rin would probably go there and be back in that time! Of course, if so ordered Audrey would obviously look out for Junko anyway, and they're really in a pretty safe areas as it is.]
no subject
[ But then... he doesn't know her sizes or measurements or what she would like to wear either. So she probably should go with him all things considered. And he eyes - it's so paradoxical to see huge blue eyes which are sparkling like hers look determined, but they totally do. He swallows, and sees her arms around his, feeling warm in his body and his cheeks ]
B-but okay. And we don't gotta go... right now. Unless you're too cold or whatever.
throws in one more here before bed
[He's right, of course, and while she doesn't exactly want to wait around all day she doesn't want to leave Rin's side, either. So this is a bit of a conundrum.]
... Go in a little while, then. [She'll feel better about it once she's gotten used to some of this, but right now she feels like a hatchling again, defenseless and near blind without her mother nudging at her, her father's voice calling her name. That, paired with all of the new stimuli, the advanced hearing and all this skin and the limbs and fingers is a bit much.]
You can lie down again if you want.
[Rin can probably manage to sleep with Junko on him anyway, but before he can really do anything she seems perfectly fine with practically crawling into his lap. He's a lot warmer than the blanket, though she isn't neglecting that either.]
Belated good night oops
At least he doesn't have that much morning wood? There's that, small blessings.
Still, he reaches his arms around her and checks out her hair and feelings, and nudges her a bit to se can check out her new face. Those eyes, and the way she's sparkling... ]
Nah, I wanna keep checking you out.
[ He could have worded that better. Whatever. He looks around - did Audrey put herself back in the ball or curl up to snooze somewhere in the clearing? He doesn't want to be all weird in front of her probably... Nah, whatever, focus back on Junko. ]
no subject
But, nah, Audrey has gone back into her ball, so she's nowhere to be found.]
So I don't look [What's the word for it?] bad?
[That, sure. While she asks the question Junko leans again a bit, trying to put more weight on her legs as she straddles his lap so that it's easier to look at all of him.] I'm still smaller than you ...
[Her hands are slim, and most of her body is made up of undeniably feminine, gentle curves, which only make her boobs stick out all the more, a feature that isn't built for the rest of her now human body. So, to her, Rin seems oddly sturdy, and she drops her palms on his shoulders, squeezing them and trailing down his chest. There's a look of pure, serious concentration which probably doesn't fit her eyes anymore than determination.]
no subject
No, of course not. ]
'Course you don't look bad! And-- and I mean, with humans, a lotta time girls are smaller, you know? [ Right? Right... He's pretty sure, at least. that's not the case with all (or even most, really) Pokémon species, so she might not know that! He honestly doesn't know much about her life before she was caught by him, or her family situation. Call it a curse of only being able to speak to her through Audrey, at least in terms of understanding details enough for all that. He did know that she was named before he caught her, but some Pokémon apparently did that if they were intelligent enough, like mot psychic types. But that's most of what he actually knew.
Like all Trainers, that history mattered a little less than the bonding they made since then. Time spent together, battles performed, pettings and groomings done, meals cooked, all that good stuff.
... Wait, she was touching him. Examining him? He's only got a relatively thin undershirt on his top now and of course his shorts. ]
no subject
[Granted, Nariko is still shorter than Masaomi but Junko's thinking in volumes, in the fact that her mother has curves and a personality which also feels awfully big, too. Granted Junko is also quite young so while she won't reach quite the same size, it stands to reason that she might as least fill out a bit more in the relative future.
And yes, she is examining him without any second thoughts or hesitation. It's not like Rin even minds! He's just sort of letting her go about it, so if he wants her to stop he'll probably need to be a little serious about the matter, especially before she eventually lowers downward.]
That does make sense, though. It's a little difficult to figure out humans' sizes when I'm usually lower on the ground.
[Her dad, for example, kind of looks like a giant, and Yamato's a moderately compacted giant. Speaking of his undershirt, though! Junko sticks her hands right under the hem, palms along his lower stomach.] No wonder you always need blankets and so many clothes! There's nothing to keep you warm!
[It's just - skin. Wow. Somehow it hadn't occurred to her that humans were so fragile and ill protected for basically ... Anything. No wonder the Pokémon did the fighting! Even Junko, with her fur, stood a better chance than Rin.]
no subject
Rin puzzles at her statement, looking deep into her sparkling eyes, trying to discern where the color began and the sparkles ended, even when she was concentrating like this. The young man looks back curiously at her with his own sky blue eyes, making a light noise of surprise as she touches him like that under the shirt. He grins though ]
Yeah, you're a lot bigger than normal like this.
[ Still has the tentacle bow thing though. That's kind of cute? He reaches out to try and poke at the fleshy bow ]
Heheh, yeah though, that's how it works!
[ It's a symbiotic relationship, humans and Pokémon. Humans are weaker, but they make tools and within some exceptions tend to be smarter, or at least able to view a situation from perspectives that Pokémon would never think of. In that respect, some legends say that the reasons Pokémon battle trainers when they're wild or why weaker ones come out to fight near towns were young trainers often start is in hopes that a Trainer will catch or bond with them. Strong Pokémon can survive in the wild, of course, but one who has a trainer to think for them (or well, with them) and guide them will almost always benefit from it.
Or at least, that's how he's heard it. There's all sorts of legends about the relationship, how it began, why it continues, and how it used to be deeper at some times and worse at other times ]
no subject
The bow feels like warm velvet, and it twitches upon being poked, but Junko herself doesn't feel any pain, and her tenta-feelers wiggle a little in response, as if alarmed, but are otherwise docilely hidden with the locks of her multi-colored hair. She tilts her head and her ears at him - they're still long and pink, with the fleshy insides the same pale blue as her eyes.]
It's a good thing I was always keeping watch then, since neither of you can ever stay awake.
[That's all far more philosophical than Junko could ever hope to be, but she does know that it's only right to look out for Rin. She can't imagine leaving him on his own even with Audrey, who is often a little more rough in order to get her point across. Junko likes to think she's a little more gentle (it is something of an honest lie).
She wiggles down a little to try and press her ear to his chest, shifting her hands so that they wrap around him. It takes a little moving around but eventually she finds what she wants - his heartbeat. Is it fast? Slow?]
Hey, now that I can talk ... I want to say something. [And it's kind of out of the moment, so he'll just have to humor her.]
The next time you go fight your brother, I want you to use me, okay? Because you're going to win.
no subject
In all honesty, it's way too philosophical for Rin too. Ask him to explain it, and he might give a vague "that's how it is" answer just like he gave there. It's rather the culture he was raised with, one which, if you believe the ancient legends, human society actively cultivated once the threat that they should never create a sword again was passed down to them by the Pokémon of old. One in which there used to be no differences between man and Pokémon. ... Which really, the likes of Junko now solidified the boundary as still being murky. ]
Hey, we could also probably use Chucky! He's kinda a night guy. [ That being his Lampent. But still, he laughs a little, hearing out... Oh. ]
S'not like I've tried to not use you, you know...
no subject
[She presses her ear against his chest a bit more, as if she could somehow get closer to it if she just willed it.] But it's just ... This time I'm going to make sure you win. That's all. N-Not like I was holding back before, or anything!
[That's really not the way she goes about battles, so it's not difficult to believe either way. For being so cute she's rather serious when it comes down to it.]
I have an older brother whose really cool. I love him to pieces, but it's always ... Difficult, you know. With siblings.
[Even more difficult when one sibling his human and the other is a creature.]
no subject
[ Or maybe human ears are different-- no, wait, she still has Sylveon ears. Maybe she processes them different now? Who knows, but be brushes the top of her head, almost expecting to get glitter on his hands as he does so. He runs a finger through her hair and smiles. She'll make sure he'll win, huh?
That's more or less what he wants to hear, isn't it? He grins, and - ]
Well you didn't be bad last time! Up and took out that Spiritomb of his real fast!
[ He's trying to be reassuring, but ... maybe that isn't necessary? That said, wait- ] I didn't know you had a brother?
[ He's kinda going in all kinds of directions ]
no subject
[She wouldn't wish any harm to those Pokémon which is exactly why they all stop at fainting and nothing more, but if it's for Rin, Junko will curb stomp their asses into paste. It would make Rin happy, right? And apparently she wanted to make so happy that she literally turned into a humanoid, so it's only logical that she could manage it now. ... Probably with Audrey's help, too.
In any case, she nods.]
My dad's a gym leader, and mom is his Flareon. Koji's a Glaceon, but Yamato's human, and the oldest. He's probably leaving home soon.
[And as for why she's listening to his heartbeat so thoroughly!] It's just nice to hear. Pokemon heartbeats are all a little different depending on their type, I just want to know yours. [A pause.] Is it always so fast, though?
no subject
[ He should have-- no what's he thinking, there's no way he would see that coming. A mixed human and Pokémon family?! It's not unheard of, most famously in this region one of the Elite Four is like that and she gets a lot of publicity but Still. Still, you don't expect some wild Sylveon you caught to be -
Oh.
Oh...? ]
I didn't know?!
no subject
[He's really surprised about it! And she has no idea why.]
They're not mad. Remember that first battle I was in? I made sure to cry out loudly enough, I think mom heard me.
[At the time it would have sounded like an especially excited battle cry, that's all. And considering that Rin had yet to wake up to his face being chewed off it was safe to say that her family knew one way or another.] I think you passed his gym already, to be honest? Or maybe it's just coming up ... All I know is that once we get to the snow, we might run into Koji.
[When she grins so genuinely the sparkles shine.] I can't wait to show him what I look like! Ohhh, maybe he's found a Trainer now, too! I hope he doesn't bully them around or anything...
[Koji's kind of a little shit?? Maybe??? Glaceons are weird, yo, so she could see it going either way depending on the trainer.]
no subject
Uh, your dad's not Zed, right?
[ That powerhouse focused Normal type leader he got his third badge from and met two towns before the mountain that they met on. He didn't get to meet the one in the City before the mountain, and they're almost at the town were he'll maybe try for his fourth badge. But he suddenly feels super awkward, surprised at this revelation?
... Um. ]
Man! I bet they would be excited though!
no subject
[She has some trouble getting the syllables about but it's understandable enough. Junko decides that a proper use of her new body is to fit it up against Rin's so that they're effectively cuddling. It also means he's stuck with her ass on his lap because she's sort of turned onto her back here, and shifted the blanket so that it's over both of them, and her tail is bent, the base of it is likely easily felt against his shirt.]
They might not even recognize me!
[It's not like Sylveon's are ridiculously common, though ....] I can't wait to see my dad's face, though! Ah, but that's only if we happen to be passing through, if that's okay! You still have badges to earn!
[Don't get off track, Rin.]
no subject
Oh... oh! I uh, I probably met your brother then! Yamato, right? He's kinda tall? I was passin' through the city your dad's the leader in before I got on the mountain you were on, and Yamato told me he was out of town for a while, so he couldn't take challengers. I asked if it'd be more than a week and he didn't know, so we kinda moved on.
[ He says that almost apologetically, though ]
no subject
[Junko pouts, and maybe her sparkles dim a bit for a second before she evens out again.] If he's a tall guy that seemed super mellow and focused on you while you were talking, that was definitely him. I guess dad must have hopped off somewhere with mom again ...
[Junko would bet money they were off rolling around together somewhere half the time.]
Well, we can always circle back around later, it's not like they're going anywhere.
[........ Wait.] This means I'll have to battle my mom.
[Oh no.]
no subject
[ He probably shouldn't say that about her brother... Oh well too late... But he laughs a little and nods his head, because yeah, they can circle back there! Of course they can - family, after all? But all the same, that's... ]
I thought you was saying you're all strong now!
[ And his brother is the one he wants to surpass most of all! ... That said, Yukio might have started way before him, but Yukio is still a developing trainer too. They're both getting stronger, but it's not like either of them are E4 or anything ]
no subject
[No, that's ... Yamato. If you don't know him he can really come across that way but when you spend some time with Yamato his Actual Cool shines through. It's not an insult so much as a general facet of his personality.]
I am! [She groans and flops on him a little.] But mom is ridiculously hardcore! She's a Fire Type!
[And they're always so intense and always amped up to twelve about everything, especially battling.] ... Even if it's by the skin of my teeth, I'll still win though. Somehow.
no subject
[ they are all a team, you know... But still. A fire type isn't the worst possible type for her all things considered! Still, he nods a little ]
But I know you'd give yer all.
[ She's so ... squishy... against him... ]
no subject
[Intimidated is a way better word!!! And it's not the same thing as being scared!!] I'll be able to help, at least! Koji would never let it go if he heard I chickened out ...
[And her parents might be sort of disappointed in her, too.
Is squishy a bad thing, Rin? Just something, man. She's comfy and doesn't want to move.]
We can worry about it when we get there.
[There's no need to circle back that way just yet, and she'd like to see them but things are fine as they are right now.]
