[ Rin has been on his Pokémon journey for the last five months. It's not exactly the longest journey ever, but for a teenager who didn't exactly have a plan when he set out other than wanting to catch up to his twin brother, with whom he's battled several times and still has a record that shows more losses than wins, it certainly feels like a long one. Certainly long enough for him to train up a reasonably strong team and to get used to things like sleeping outdoors when he's out of towns and cozying up in a Pokémon Center when he was in a town. The life of a trainer was being frugal, especially if you weren't a Pro.

Then again, there's still a lot you can do even without being a full Pro, which is shown by the fact that the teenager, through many hard battles, has probably seen a little more than half the country, hiked over a mountain, and earned three gym badges this far. In comparison to some legendary prodigies he's working at a moderate pace, but then he wasn't really aiming for the League Champion position and he wasn't really necessarily out to be the Best at first.

But he did want to be the Best in his family. But that's a whole other thing he's not really sure how to explain to anyone else. Rin's starter was a cute little Shinx who he began his journey with, and who in the aftermath of their climactic second gym battle actualized into a humanoid as a result of their celebratory bond. That was on of the proudest moments of his life. It's not necessarily rare for trainers to bond with a Pokémon to that extent, but it's also not necessarily common, and that gym leader had ruffled his hair and told him good job. Aside from here, he's caught maybe six or seven other Pokémon, of which three are in the care of the people running the academy he used to go to school in, his connected PC system. One of those Pokémon is Junko.

Junko is a beautiful and somewhat vain (or at least, he sees her as such) Sylveon who he caught after a fierce battle while hiking through a mountain range past a certain City. He wasn't able to fight the gym leader there who was supposedly away on business, but he did shake hands with the leader's son and promise to come battle them again some day. It's been about a month since then, and he's taken to sleeping against her as a pillow (at her suggestion) when they are camping outside, while many of his other pokemon prefer to rest in the comfort of their balls. I leave you to decide how Audrey sleeps

[Junko, despite her looks and, yes, some of her preening, loved the mountains, and she spent a good amount of her free time up there, talking with the other Pokémon and essentially idling her days away, in a sense. Koji was off in the mountains, somewhere, probably causing blizzards and annoying the shit out of people, and Yamato was planning on starting his journey. Of the three Kida children she was the most aimless, oddly enough, though not for lack of trying. It wasn't her fault that she couldn't find a human that she both admired and also respected! If she was going to be someone's Pokémon she couldn't help living by her mother's advice - "Look for someone who puts a fire in you".

Rin did that. Sure, he was way too nice and he had lots of feelings but when they'd battled she hadn't felt at all bad about being caught. In fact she was happy! Not only to have finally ended up with a trainer, but because she immediately looked forward to the places they might go, the things they might do, and all that they could see. Finally, finally Junko was going to leave the safety of her father's town and his Gym!

She'd pretty much loved every minute of it, and become rather quietly protective of Rin. No one could help the sleeping outside part but she felt better serving as his pillow. She could wake up far quicker than him even if she slept with her head tucked in near his and this way Audrey could enjoy her Pokéball until the morning, when she generally asked to be let out and walk normally unless she had to battle.

It was just dangerous - stupidly dangerous, but she understood why he needed to do it. She'd always wanted to be as cool and as put together as her older brother, she wanted him to admire her even though she was a Pokémon and he was a human. Rin's journey felt entirely valid to her, and it was somewhere around dawn that she woke up first (as always) and just ... looked at him. He was such a great trainer ... Kind of a dork, but she liked that about him, too. Even though she missed her family awfully some nights, Rin was worth all of it. Her parents would probably love him.

That's how it happened, with that one thought, an incredibly warm feeling that had been building since the moment they met, expanded so thoroughly that it shifted her limbs and fur. With Rin still using her as a pillow Junko opened her unearthly blue eyes and felt ... Bigger. And weird. She tried to call out, but all that came out of her throat was a weird, moan-y sort of noise.]

.. in?

[That's a - A human voice???] R-i-n?

[HOLY SHIT.

And that's when Junko screeched sounding far more like a terrified Pokémon than she had any right to. Or Gijinka. Whatever the hell this new body was.]

[ The terrible thing, of course?

Is that's only enough to make the boy only sort of wake up - which is probably why it's a good thing at least one of his pokémon sleeps outside of the ball and most of his pokémon have long since learned how to escape the ball without him pressing the button. As such, he sort of groans and almost sits up, but ... doesn't.

Now, his eyes are still just vaguely open, which is how he sleeps as well, drooling a bit on what would have been her fur.

His pillow shifted... ]

[He's drooling on what is now her very human stomach and the sensation of it is weird and she makes an equally weird sound to communicate that to the Butterfree that's staring at them.]

Wa-ke up!

[Talking is incredibly difficult, what the fuck!! How does her mom make this look so easy? She talks for hours! Ugh.

Junko tries to wiggle, force her arms to move over to Rin's head so that she can try to get his head on the ground for just a moment. She needs Audrey, but that girl sleeps just as hard as Rin so there's no way she's heard anything useful. When Rin's settled Junko tries to find Audrey's Pokéball, ignoring the little sparkles that seem to cling to her immediate area, and from a weird angle she can see that her hair is a strange black that can appear a weird blue, and the mid to end points are an ombre pink that resembled her fur. But her skin is - definitely human and pale and smooth and this is so weird!!

While she tries to find the right ball, suddenly completely unable to coordinate her brain enough to psychically scream Audrey's name, the feelers attached to her bow poke at Rin's face very aggressively.]

[ Well she's got a one in five chance! ... Though the miracle of pokéballs is that they are a little bit see thrown if you view them through the right angle, so you might be able to see the Luxray snoozing in there. But there's also a Lampent, a Minun... sadly, she picks both of those off his belt before she picks up Audrey's, which is funny because Audrey is usually the first one there! Well, first in terms of what he grabs to throw, which might not be obvious.

But hey, she got a result!

Which is him groaning, focusing his dead fish eyes which is his "sleeping with his eyes open" eyes roughly in her direction while itching his stomach under his shirt and saying, ]

C'mon jus'... five more... hours...

[ . . . ]

Hours?!

[She's not even surprised, really, just always endlessly exasperated with how deeply he and Audrey can sleep, like there's nothing in the world to be concerned about! She does get the right ball though, and though from that right angle she sees a Luxray when she presses the ball and frees it, what comes out is a young woman a good three years older than herself. But, then again, Audrey had three evolutions, so it's not at all unexpected.]

Already?! [When Audrey yawns her triangular ears lay flat and her tail straightens out, her row of teeth practically glint in the sun.] Shit, Rin, why ... [And then Audrey looks at the mess in front of her.] Well, damn.

[Junko, finally relieved to have some help, makes a whimpering noise.]

Relax, you're gonna be fine. Let's just get this lazy fucker up.

[Junko gives a withering look, which hardly fits her definitely-not-human blue eyes.] L-ike y-your better!

[Audrey's tail swishes over to give Rin the tiniest, safest little jolt.] Whatever. Come on, Rin, up and at'm!

Uuuugggghhh--!! Don't do that!

[ But he blinks from the jolt, groaning a little as he rolls on the ground, trying to look away. Or maybe face away? He curls up on the ground, trying to pretend that it's not morning because it still look too dark out for him to want to be awake?? Okay?? And he thus is facing away from them with his face against the dirt and his ass up in the air for them, wiggling as he tries to will himself back to sleep.

Are they naked? Junko probably is, right ]

You're awake enough to say a whole sentence, but you won't just get up ...

[Audrey is so genuinely used to this daily irritation that she isn't actually bothered it at all, it's sort of like going through the same motions with different words. While Junko huddles in on herself because it's cold and she's still really thrown off by all of this, Audrey rolls her eyes.

She leans over Rin and pinches his nose with her thumb and forefinger, even if he's smart enough to just breathe through his mouth she's gonna dig her nails into his skin until it's too painful for him not to react. Mostly because Audrey's a little shit, and she's way too tired to do anything more dramatic than that. Like sit on his face.

Junko is very, very naked and cold and though she can't see it, there's a pink and beige 'bow' in her hair that keeps her feelers grounded, and both are shivering every few moments because existing without fur is sort of awful so far. They're out in the middle of nowhere and Audrey has clothes (come to think of it, her mom always has clothes, too. What the fuck.).]

Come on, Trainer Boy, your favorite pet's all shiny - Literally! Junko needs your help!

[Audrey doesn't really thing that saying it will help but she tries anyway.]

[ Ten seconds of resistance to her pinch later, the young man swats his hands out at her, as if trying to dislodge her, whining as he goes and sucking somewhat jerky through his mouth. And then after twenty seconds his eyes are focusing on much of nothing in particular. And then after twenty-five his eyes open wide and he groans, sitting up properly and yanking on Audrey's arm as he shakes his head ]

Come ooooon, it's stupid early! I can't see the sun!

[ Through all of the trees. No, you can, if you tried, he's just being a whiny. Also Gijinka get to keep their clothes when they transform, just sort of saved as an "extra" as they go back to Pokémon form. Of course, you don't get to start with clothes though.

That said, he's sitting up now, glaring up at Audrey with a pout ]

[This is Audrey's Serious Crap Is Going Down voice, and she narrows her eyes at him in a critical expression before she points over to Junko. He needs to man up right now and help his Pokémon!] Don't be lame, she's cute!

[Which, to be fair, Audrey's absolutely bangin', thank you very much, but Junko's like, stupidly, literal-fucking-sparkles-with-cute-eyes cute. Audrey's not even a dude and she kind of wants to bang the weird little Eevee mutation but this isn't about her right now. It's about Rin and Junko and the fact that, somehow, that little thing cared about this idiot enough to literally transform. It's kind of a big deal.]

... Rin?

[Junko's voice is operating a little better, the almost bell like lilt to it is normal, actually.]

[ Oh.

It's Audrey's tone which makes him come alive and stop being petulant far more than being suffocated, yelled at, and shocked. His eyes focus immediately in front of him and he actually reaches down to his belt, ready to throw out his Lampent if needed to allow them to escape from whatever Pokémon was going to bare down on them...

But then he realizes it's the wrong instinct, and his lips come together in a strange duckbill expression. He leans forward, looking a bit confused for a long moment until he recognizes her. He looks up at Audrey, but before he even makes eye contact he looks back at Junko and starts to crawl over towards her.

He looks... ]

Oh... Junko? [ He didn't get to pick her name, unlike how he named Audrey. Audrey had told him her name in translation. But it's still a special name, right? ]

Hi.

[When she waves her very human hand, her feeler goes through the same motion, which is what she'd do in her normal form in order to greet someone.] ... You wouldn't wake up, so I got Audrey ...

[POINTED LOOK FROM AUDREY, but anyway.] It's fine, kid, he'll help you out from here out.

[Does Rin really need her help? Because if not Audrey's gonna go back to sleep. He's already been through this with her so he knows to get her a basic outfit, at least, and also probably get her warm, too. They're not ridiculously far from town but Junko probably doesn't know how to walk properly just yet, so he'll either have to leave them behind or help her along.

Either way, they're at an impasse. Audrey means to stay out of the way and Junko isn't sure of what to do at the moment. Is Rin happy or half asleep or???]

Oh man, oh man, oh man... Rin's strange expression turns into a wide smile, and he grins at Junko, crawling the last few steps closer to her and gets up closer to her. And finally, he makes to wrap his arms around her, hugging her close to his chest. He did the same with Audrey, so he's ultimately mirroring the movement. As a Pokémon trainer, he loves all of his Pokémon. But to have one - no, two - actualize into a humanoid form like this? It was basically the most amazing thing in the world. Still, not sure what response to give other than obvious joy and hugging the naked young woman towards him (wow- wow, she's about as chesty as Audrey what weird luck did he have??) he laughs and says - ]

Good morning!

[She doesn't really think to move away from Rin as he gets so much closer, to the point of totally invading her space. It seems perfectly fine, or maybe she just really wants the hug, considering how apt she is to lean into him, even with her arms still crossed over her boobs (therefore obscuring exactly how big they are) she leans into Rin's chest. ... Even like this, he's still bigger than her. At least she doesn't have to look up as much, though.]

Good morning.

[Junko curls her face into his neck, and her feelers sort of curl around his shoulders, though one seems pretty happy to stroke his cheek a little.]

... I'm really cold!

[Be joyful and hug and also give her something to put over her body.]

[Veronica had pushed herself a little too far this time.

But it’s worth it - no matter what it’s worth all the pain and grit and sometimes tears because after all this time she’s finally got her eighth badge! It’s a hard won victory that was, as usual, attributed to her Glaceon, who had not only essentially carried her ill-picked team for this specific gym battle, but also managed to stay up on all four limbs until she was able to get them all to the Pokemon center. If she did her best then her memory recall would conjure up images of the Nurse Joy, of the different colored balls guided into her bag again. The life of a trainer is taxing, thankless, and utterly challenging and she’d just been so tired - was it really any wonder that she found them a place to stay?

After all of this work they deserved a nice room, and Veronica pushed off one shoe and gently set her bag down and then flopped onto her bed. The hotel was probably a little too expensive, even for all of her penny pinching it wasn’t as if she was made of cash and there were a number of things she needed to stock up on. But it was so nice to sleep in four walls and behind a door. They were safe and she could be tired and drop dead in the middle of the afternoon after two previous days of traveling without sleep.

No one ever talks about the awful parts of the journey, but then there’s no way to describe the incredible joy that comes with knowing she could actually make it to Victory Road now. It must have slipped her mind before she fell asleep because it’s as she’s waking that Veronica remembers looking at her Glaceon and smiling at him, thanking him …]

Hmm ….

[And then she’d been knocked out, and had now circled back into a wakeful state all over again. Rather than open her eyes or even get up and change into her sleep clothes her arm shoots out to try and find her Pokémon, who might be just as likely in his ball as he is to be within arms reach.]

[ Koji was strong. It's something he had always been aware of, from the moment he was born to when he was play-fighting with his sister in his youth, all the way up until he evolved in the mountains near the city where they grew up. It's the sort of strength that all - or well, a lot - of Pokémon aspire towards, to become more and more powerful and in so doing increase their quality of life. It had been a happy childhood, but he had also wanted to test himself. Causing blizzards and doing childish pranks...

Well, that wasn't to say he was above such things now, but he did have a purpose. The adopted purpose of seeing this girl who he'd teamed up with through to the end of things. When he was captured - fair and square - that's when he decided that she was a Trainer he could work with, one which would make him stronger and one he's become incredibly endeared to over time, opening himself up more than... well, more than most of his family would have thought possible. And it's probably because of that that then she reaches out to brush him, it's not the tight fur of his Glaseon form-

But something different. His eyes are a shade of blue. He's somewhat smaller than even her, and his similarly blue hair is patterned in such a way as to resemble his true form's hat-like dangles. He has a tail, and obviously inhuman ears, and his breath is letting off some mist. But he's also looking at her with a reverent, quiet sort of surprise.

Was he...? Did he...? ]

[That's skin, actual, normal skin and not the weird slickness of her slowpoke named Joe, nor her Vulpix.]

What?

[Her voice is groggy while she drags her eyes open, blinking the shape in front of her into something that can make sense to her still tired brain. That is not her Pokémon, not any of them, actually. There's a boy in her room and she ... She didn't ... What?? At first Veronica is visibly terrified and ready to scream for her life, but then, right as the sound is about to leave her throat, she sees the ears. And then the tail. They're in a snowy town but even so one just doesn't run into a Glaceon out of nowhere!]

You - Are you?

[She finally sits up, her big eyes made wide. He didn't - he transformed?! There's no way! And why?]

It's me,

[ He confirmed, trying to sound as nonplused as he totally and completely isn't. His blu yes rove the room, and then focus back on her, looking down at himself and moving around his fingers, this thumbs. That's just weird...

But all the same, he... transformed, because of her. For her. The affection he feels is Definitely real enough, and he knows he should probably say something- but opts not to, in favor of reaching out to brush back some of her stray hair ]

[It's him. It's him! IT'S HIM!!!!]

You're so cool looking!

[Though that might be a difficult opinion to swallow since she'd spent maybe forty-five seconds looking at the new human form before she was suddenly barreling forward, wrapping him in a hug that was too tight and was incredibly likely to push his entire face into her boobs. Veronica, always the affectionate and expressive on, didn't care. She squeezed him tight as if he might try to run away from her now that he had two legs instead of four.]

I can't believe this! This never happens it's not - I didn't even know!

[They really had been through so much together but she had never assumed that her usually reserved Pokémon could care for her just as much as she did for him!]

[ Whoa girl he might be a cool badass (hah, get it?) but he wasn't used to this human body. He's surprised at how he's able to be jerked into her like that, how it feels like his muscles are weaker like this - or at least different. He would never freeze her, so he doesn't even think to do that, but she feels so warm as he's pulled into her and suffocated a little bit.

He waves his arms as if to imply that fact to her. But...

If he's honest, her joy is felt by him too. ]

[Well, to be fair! It's a little hard to miss someone moving their arms in a way that doesn't end with a hug! So Veronica at least has the sense to back off, leaving him free to take in air again.]

I'm sorry! [For almost suffocating him, not for being happy.] Are you ... Okay? Do you need anything?

[This is probably incredibly weird for him, right? After all, some amount of time ago he had fur and felt like a smooth sheet of ice!] Clothes. You might kind of need clothes.

[Although he was an Ice type so did he even feel cold?]

[ For a long moment, Koji considers it - how to speak, how he should move... honestly, how to be human at all. He moves his fingers, and holds thumbs up in the air for a long moment as he wiggles them. This sort of naked wonderment probably isn't suited for his normal personality, but these are explorations he can't help but make. The young man shifts his head, making the little "ear" patches of hair sway too. She didn't need to apologize, but he also didn't say that. ]

I need clothes? [ . . . ] Guess I would.

[ Did he need anything...? ]

I thought you might be cold but I guess that wouldn't be the biggest concern for you, either.

[Considering that she's not rude or ill-mannered it's not as if she's going to look down and stare at his body! So the clothes are pretty much up to him! She has some of her brother's old clothes in her bag and while they'd be big on Koji (as they are on her) it would be better than nothing if it helped him feel more comfortable.

The words die out for a little while, mostly veronica just watches him watching parts of himself.]

Hey. What's your name?

[ His name...

All this time, she's probably had a name she called him right? Koji considers for a moment, weighing the importance of her as a Trainer versus the name his mother gave him. Ultimately, he concludes... ]

Does it matter? The name you've called me is fine.

[ Unless she insists that it isn't, of course. But as he says this, he's sitting back away from her in the bed, so that he can see his legs, his toes - he wiggles his toes. And he also looks down between his legs, and hums a little. Was he cold? ... No, not really. He was always a little cold, and even now he was running at a lower than human body temperature ]

Of course it does. Your name is part of a lot of different things that made you into the Pokémon that is my best friend.

[That and did he really want to keep being called 'Glaceon'? Veronica's one of those types that doesn't actually name-name her companions because that's ... A lot of work when you consider how dedicated she is to catching every single Pokémon in every new area she reaches. But as he pulls away she sits up properly, relaxing back onto her side.

Uh, maybe it'd be best to get him some pants just for modesty's sake? Because now she does kind of look where she shouldn't. But just for a second.]

[ Hey, she said it so lovingly though. But given she insists... and she said it like that... he nods and says, ]

[ It's a bit of a strange name for a Glaceon. Probably? He's not really met any other ones, if he's honest. He knows that most Snovers don't have names like that though. Huh... his penis is a little bigger in this form? Maybe? Or at least shaped differently. ]
