[Midlandia] Just One Note

[A series of events occurred which were incredibly important and ultimately life changing.

But frankly her attention span was always rather limited. What really mattered above all else was that she and Nathan were free, and it didn't require Vergil's scolding or leaving the country. They had been adopted into this pack with considerably minimal fuss. They had a roof, food, and a way to get to and from school. The best part was that there was no one to hit her anymore, no more getting thrown left and right into walls or furniture, and Nathan no longer had to hear all the yelling and insults. They could be living in a high class sewer and Nariko would still be happy.

And while she'd made her gratuity very clear to the Alpha she's been otherwise quite normal! Nariko had survived the state of things because she knew how to control herself, how to present properly. So ever since they'd been given their space she'd gone about meeting everyone she could, being both agreeable and fun, while Nathan clung to her side the whole time.

Lately, though, he's been feeling a little more like himself. On this particular day she's sprawled all over the couch while Nathan watches some movie directly in front of her. If she's supposed to give a single crap about her tiny shorts or tank top then ... Actually, no, why would she? It hasn't occurred to Nariko to dress or act differently, especially because there's so many women. Besides, she's kind of idly watching it with him or occasionally toying with her phone, and really she'd practically beg for something fun to do. Ugh.]

[ Mikado frowns, but he nods too. ] I don't think it's good to try to deflate expectations like that... but I guess so yeah.

[ Masaomi laughs at that, sliding ahead of them all to make sure they get their spot in line as next in line. So she can buy her stuff. ]

I think we can all agree that there has to be a full week before anything else, right?

[Another week is certainly long enough to prepare for another date! Though, presumably, that one won't include more gifts. But the line ultimately isn't too long, she's already digging for her wallet in her purse.]

Oh, right, so Masaomi? I just got you both something separate sine there wasn't time to really decide on anything as pairs, so you're just going to have more stuff to carry home.

[Although she could definitely sell her gift that way! It could help him carry stuff back!]

Oh. Well I didn't confirm with you about getting one for Mikado and I don't think he had time to do the same for me, so it looks like we've got out joint one for you and then yours for each of us?

[ Mikado shrugs and sighs dramatically ] It's your fault for making it soun so confusing...

I think it works out fine that way!

[So while Mikado is definitely right, there's no sense in worrying about it now! When they make it to the line she puts the book up and holds out the money, gets her change and all that. It doesn't take very long.]

Should we do it when we get back home, though? It'd be sort of weird to stand in the middle of the street, exchanging gifts.

[ The two boys look at each other. The hold it for a while, and then finally nod ]

Yeah, might as well! I don't think it'l be a huge issue with ours, but..

But no girl wants a gift in the middle of the street, so come on, we'll go home and do the exchange, and then maybe hang out a little more.

What, the date wasn't good enough?!

[That's ... Did Mikado want to spent more time with her or be alone with her, or ... No, she was just overthinking it. They were just doing their funny brother exchange deal. Still, for a moment she looks incredibly thoughtful, but decides to keep her thoughts to herself.]

[She's got her bag and everything, so they can zip home, now!]

[ And Mikado this time reaches for Nariko's hand first. So surprised at that is Masaomi that he smirks and instead of Nariko in this middle, this time it's going to be Mikado in the Middle, so he grabs Mikado's other hand, making him yelp in surprise, but so it begins ]

[You know it's really starting to feel like Mikado's getting bolder here, and while that's good it also seems sudden and she kind of wants to know what's caused it. Maybe he just feels comfortable in the situation, now? Either way she holds his hand firmly enough, and they begin their trek!

It's probably good that they're calling it an ending on this date, she's kind of tired and she wants to put eyes on Nathan again, even though he's probably just fine. She's sort of quiet on the way back, as a result, have genuinely out of it and half thoughtful about quite a few different things.

When the front of the house comes into view she stops really suddenly.]

One last thing, though, you can't end a fun date by just walking inside, there has to be a romantic kiss. Or at least borderline romantic.

[Because it really has been fun, so ... Mostly she just wants to do things right, whatever that means.]

[ The fact she's calling them out for this sort of romantic trope brings a swell to Masaomi's heart, it means this is really working, and his mad plan might just pay off. Mikado, for his part, looks more surprised than anything. While he had been bold in taking the hand first, being the middle really did make him flustered the whole way home. He doesn't ven speak up. But Masaomi, for his part, supplies, ]

Mmm, agreed. So how do the logistics work here, NariNari?

Mm, you and I could go first, and then Mikado and I and then:

[She motions between the two of them] if you want to! I'm not suggesting anything.

[She did want to see them kiss, but that was already fulfilled so anything after this point isn't her business! She just wants them to know that if it does happen it won't upset the feeling she's going for here.]

Mmmmmm. Those would make more sense than my plan of us trying to kiss everyone at once with our heads together.

[ Mikado looks at him balefully, there's no way that would work? What, is she stupid? But Mikado tilts his head a little, looking over at Nariko and remembering that she was weird about them kissing before, like she mattered less. Is it right to end on them, therefore? Even if it was a little embarrassing to kiss Masaomi either way... ]

That definitely wouldn't have worked, mouths aren't designed to kiss two people at once.

[Hey, he definitely doesn't have to kiss Masaomi if he doesn't want to! She just wanted to mention it.]

So ...

[She tugs on Masaomi's shirt, pulling him closer. Kiss time!]

[ In order to pull this off, he (well, both of them) need to let go of Mikado's hand. So he does, and takes a step closer to Nari, a sly grin on his face before leaning in to -- nuzzle his nose against her! And then close his eyes, tilt his head, and press his lips against her - the picture of a gentle, romantic kiss. He wants to portray how fun the date was for him ]

[Letting go of Mikado isn't fun but it does need to be done, yes. And when she's come to terms with that it's a lot easier to fully lean into Masaomi, full on embracing and all that. ... But she's not expecting the nuzzling thing here and it makes her laugh like an idiot, though even that somehow tapers just in time for a kiss that was far more thoughtful than she had thought it would be.

Hopefully he doesn't consider it too much of a shame when she presses a little harder. It really was a fun date, and Masaomi's weird but he's also funny and creative and charming, and ... He's officially given her one of the best orgasms of her life, so that should definitely go into the kiss too, right? [There's got to be something about the hair-kiss-grope combo because it really puts her in the mood to fuck around like nothing else. [ Masaomi managed to not shoot his own scent out beyond a little whisper of it, something which annoys Mikado even more. But the young man with the glasses can't... well. He can't go and reach out to take Nariko, because he's probably used the boldness in his life a bit to much today, trying to keep pace with Maaomi. But right now - I mean. It was obvious. She was way more into Masaomi than into him.

So he sort of pouts, but he shrugs off that Masaomi can quip back to her - ]

Eeeh, did you start it?!

It's not a matter of who started it or not!

[Yeah, just that is enough to snap her back into place, though the physical effects linger, she's calmed her hormones back to their usual level of 'almost seeping out and demanding sex'. Nariko straightens her dress a little before she faces Mikado with a little, apologetic smile. She knows how it looks to him and that's what makes her feel guilty because he's so wrong.

She takes Mikado's hand and, yeah, that she starts out softer with him probably isn't going to help, but right now she's a little worried he might not even be interested in kissing her! Not after that accidental display with Masaomi. So once she's got a green light, here ...]

[ Masaomi snorts affectionately over here because that's pretty much an admission that she totally started it and really wanted him badly. That he was "winning" here in more ways that one. Still, he's glad when Mikado and her start to kiss.

Mikado isn't quite resistant though. Self-esteem or not, there's no way he could resist her. The feeling of her against him, the smell of a hint of her scent and the natural smells of her body... he melts into her with basically no resistance. He tilts his head and brushes his lips against her ]

[She wouldn't have blamed him if he was upset, but it's also not a big shock that he wasn't - or that he was able to get over it for a brief moment. Mikado is sweet, honest, and incredibly smart and goddamn does she like him. It's in the awful way where it feels like she'd probably never be good enough, but it's nice to think about, and it was nice to talk with him alone before they met Masaomi. It felt easy and right, and not nearly as scary or stressful as literally any other interaction with any other boy she's ever met.

Including Masaomi.

So the idea that she likes one more than the other is bullshit. There's no question about whether she starts it first here because for Mikado she does - slow and steadily, Nariko shifts from gentility to eager neediness. There's really something to be said for a guy who doesn't make you jump through hoops, it's safe and comforting, and doesn't diminish her sex drive in the least.

Basically Mikado has maybe ten seconds before she's moaning and trying to guide her tongue into his mouth. Masaomi will have to wait, just like his brother did before.]

[ Mikado still has doubts because how could he not? All his life, he's been the foil to Masaomi, and even though Alpha scent doesn't fully develop until puberty like all other scents, Mikado did need to deal with him all his life, his achievements and his gung-ho attitude. It wasn't that he resented his brother - no, he loved him. He followed him in everything and has no doubt in his mind he was bullied much less because of the insane antics that they had got in because of him. But Mikado was smart, and that doesn't necessarily buy you a lot of social credibility, even in this day and age, until you're properly in high school.

And deep into it.

He's own grown himself because of that. Every bit of sex he's ever had in his life is at least in part because of Masaomi. There's a lot of problems with it, and he wouldn't mind something which was all his, even if he also loved this trio they were getting involved in here. Mikado groans a little into the kiss, feeling her hot against him and forgiving her before their lips even touched. Forgiving Masaomi after they do. And --

when it deeps, he's surprised. He didn't make much effort to touch her beyond wrapping his arms around his neck, and when her tongue is in his mouth, he's amazed. But he also loves it, and the fog in his glasses ]

[Hey, this time she remembers the glasses, and even reaches up to take them off and slip them into her purse for temporary safe keeping! It's a miracle.

Mikado didn't have to initiate the touching if he didn't want to, Nariko was more than happy to wrap her arms around him and lean into the whole feeling of it. Mikado was smart, and that was part of what made him a little intimidating, enough that when she'd lingered outside of his room last night and almost slept next to him instead of Masaomi. Back then it had felt like she might be bothering Mikado with it, that he might just think she was an idiot but hindsight is twenty-twenty and all that.

The best thing she can do is make up for it now by putting her all into a long, slow, kiss. Maybe Masaomi had more immediate, sexual responses, but Mikado got all of the intensity, all the things that might actually last into the future. Maybe it would change later, but right now they were weirdly evened out, for better or worse.]

[ Mikado is ignorant of all of that, honestly. For better or worse, all three of them are probably caught up in their own heads, with Masaomi, of all people, seeing the clearest into the opinions and motivations of the others. And even he doesn't have any special insight. No, Mikado...

Is surprised.

He's surprised that this feels as intimate as it does, and feels as hot as it does. She's close up against him, all over him, and he's drowning in her, overwhelmed by this feeling. He tilts his head and lingers more on her lips, his tongue edging out a little bit more. Was she- was he?
