[ It's been around a month since everything started to change. And frankly, a damn sure more things have changed even in that month. There's simplistic ones, such as Masaomi getting a vasectomy which even if he tried to keep it on the downlow, everyone found out about because of what a whiner he was for his week of medical abstinence and everyone felt after that for how he proceeded to fuck every relevant woman in the house and who would sleep with him out of the house into submission for the next two or three days. Everyone sort of had a rude awakening there.

But then, some changes were bigger and more serious. A new member joined there pack (Veroncia) not all that long ago, and it was much to everyone except some of the adult's surprise. Everyone had to learn their new pecking order and where she fit in with the rest of them. Masaomi and Nariko continued their rituals and continued their seeing other people, to mixed results from both. Audrey was hanging around the house more, though she hadn't had the recommended Talk with Masaomi about joining, despite making this something of a second home for her. And of course, Junko's training continued despite the week long hiatus from it.

Everyone was changing, and everyone was adapting. Yamato even had a sexy car now. And at the culmination of everything, a sort of milestone in the midst of everything, there was Thanksgiving, the lead up to it, and the follow up after it leading into December. A time when a lot of people hung out in one house, and then things got weirdly tense for a variety of reasons. God bess us, every one. ]

Would it be a misunderstanding on my part to think the idea of it would make you happy?

[ That all of his seed, even any he might release when not with her would be for her! That he could be motivated in all new ways to become more suitable for her hormones and the sexual demands that she made of him! [But the reality of that is that she's allowing herself to think it's what Ethan might actually want when, really, he's still just trying to do as she all but tells him. She's putting up with his weird, creepy tendencies and he's putting up with her overtly sexual nature. And somehow in the middle of this he thinks she's someone he should be with for years.

They're incredibly fucked up and Junko Kida knows that in her own way. She just doesn't want to deal with it. But she will let him hold her, and do the same to him.]

I. [She still gets a little hesitant about saying it back to him in person. It's easy over text because she pretends she's texting her brother.] I love you, too. [Yamato.]

[ The sexual nature she's in denial of one of these days she's going to explode and suck a million dicks.

Not that he knows it, or even believes that's possible, right now. So instead, he smiles a little wider, utterly convinced by her. Utterly taken with her. And he leans down to close the distance and kiss her full on the lips, lingering there for a long moment. He pulls back, and he lingers there, as if asking her if she wanted to go to the presents for his parents and or if she had gotten excited by this conversation. ]

[Of course she was excited, if someone looked at her a certain way then Junko would be excited. She's more than happy to lean up into that kiss, get lost in it to the extent that her thoughts calm down almost entirely. But he always pulls away too quickly. Always. Her scent is more than a little present between them and even after just a few days of holiday imposed abstinence there's something backed up about it.

But she doesn't kiss him again.]

Right, so, I was going to show you what I got your parents!

[ And even when Ethan reacts to her scent, as he does now, to an extent, he doesn't force the issue. He instead backs off a step and nods, smiling for her as he takes a step back and takes the picture frame off the bed to set it on a nightstand. She'll put the picture in his drawer, right? And they can sit there on the bed!

Also his own scent smells a little bit like an air cleaning fluids or an air freshener. Sterile, but not ... bad smelling, per se. ]

[She reaches into the bag to pull out the one gift each she got his parents, and:] So, I thought tie for your dad, it was the highest quality I could find, and there was a set of matching cufflinks and a jacket, too, but I didn't know his size and if this might be his style or not.

[Whether it is or isn't Junko's clearly got stellar taste, and she can return the tie for something other than the royal blue color that it is. The other package is ... ]

And this is a bracelet, I saw your mom wearing earrings from the same collection, but I don't know if she already has it, or maybe it's presumptuous to buy a woman jewelry when you aren't her significant other.

[ Ethan's first instinct if, of course, just to say they are perfect because she picked them and she is perfect. If anything, this whole charade of inspecting them was tedious. But on the other hand, she was genuinely asking for his opinion on them and even if it felt foolhardy, there's no way he should allow her to languish with doubts longer than necessary. So he folds his hands in his lap and examines both. The tie... ]

The tie is precisely Father's style, I think it would suit him well. But as for cufflinks, you might have been better off to avoid them - he has a pair from his father he always wears. And for Mother... [ He hums, looking it over! ] No, she does not have that bracelet.

[That may be his first instinct but she ends up appreciating that he really does answer her properly.] Really? I'm glad I listened to my instincts, then. Men always seem to inherit those kinds of things from other men. [She has no idea about that kind of thing but she's not unaware, either.]

Will she like it? I hope they won't be bothered that I got you more than them.

[After all she'd kind of gotten Ethan a bunch of different things, sooo. Would it look like she was just phoning it in with his parents?]

You have only scantly been introduced to them, darling - the mere fact that you got them anything will speak volumes. [ He smiles, and - ] They'll talk about how generous you were for years to come.

[ There he goes again, assuming the future. Also he didn't answer the question about his mom. But. She would. Probably, maybe. ]

They can't be that happy. I'm sure whatever you got them will be leagues better, but that's how sons are supposed to be.

[Unless you're Yamato, who doesn't put enough thought into his Mother's Day presents, let alone Christmas. .... Had he finished his shopping? She probably still needed to help him.

Don't doubt it, Junko! [ In fact, he takes the bracelet in hand, moves it around, and smiles at her ] My own gifts for them are simple, your own will far outshine them.

[ Yamato has not done any shopping whatsoever other than a gift for Ada of all people because he saw the perfect gift a month ago for her and bought it on a lark. ]

That's not a good thing. I wonder if it's a guy trait to never think too much about presents.

[She kind of thought it was just her stupid brothers since Koji would fight the wet paper bag he'd end up stuck in sometimes, and Yamato would quietly accept it and say something awkward. Boys are hopeless.

Ethan's clinical smelling scent stirs in the air a little more, and he takes a step forward to take the bracelet in his hand, run his fingers along it, and smile for her.

... And it's a hat, if you must know. He saw an old picture of her in this cool hat once and he found one with the same style to it and he knows (hopes) she'll like it as a result. ]

[That really is what she'd meant! But he didn't seem to catch it and it'd be lame of her to explain, right? It wasn't as if his parents were really going to come to know her, so it made more sense that everything they did would be as a pair, in that sense.]

As long as the effect is positive that's all I can ask for, I guess. I've never had to do any of this before.

[And she still shouldn't be doing it now since she has every intent of breaking up with him before either of them goes off to college.]

[That will be an incredibly thoughtful gift, and Yamato might be surprised by the effect it ultimately has on her.]

[ And he leans in to kiss her again, on her cheek. He hands the bracelet back, a smile on his lips. Oh, oh, oh, how splendid. How absolutely wonderful that she had thought of them as a we in the first place! To think he didn't even consider that originally! How vile and presumptuous of him...! ]

[ . . . Hopefully that's a good thing man he doesn't have any others picked out and it's Christmas Eve. He's sort of scrambling ]

[Why didn't he try to actually kiss her? They've fucked enough that something that basic should be simple. But it's like he constantly tries to pretend she's a virgin or something. But she still smiles and nods. It's a little sad that she won't be here to see him open his gifts but she can't imagine not being at home for Christmas, either.]

We have tended to watch the ball drop together, though some of the pack have moved away from that in favor of their own parties over time.

[ He answers this factually, and with a pleasant smile! ... And maybe he does pretend that sometimes okay, he's trying. To deal with her being a huge slut. She should just force the situation if she's so concerned about it ]

[ On the contrary, Ethan wakes up every single day and thinks about how he wants Junko. Affectionately, lovingly, cerebrally. He still has a passionate vision of the future, and though he doesn't put that word on it yet, what he ultimately wants is marriage. He doesn't know or want to put that word on it yet, but that's what it is. But for their physical relationship... well, he's been trying, as was said. He had this idealized image of Junko that everything about her has sort of rubbed against. He rolls his tongue around his mouth and he shakes his head ]

I would love to, of course. [ And he puts his hand over his heart! ]

I had thought to invite you out for a date, but I did not know if you had your own plans.

But nothing on that list read 'physically. How can he even think about any sort of long-term commitment when they seem to be so physically incompatible? She tries to think about getting a kitten for Christmas - which isn't going to happen, it basically never does - in order to distract herself.]

He gets that distant look on his face which shows he's plotting something utterly insane and unreasonable, like that fancy dinner he set up at his house the day after Thanksgiving where he had even picked out her dress for her somehow knowing all of her sizes. He smiles all the wider, and he nods vigrously at the end of it - ]

Well then! If everyone else shall be suitable occupied, I will steal you away for both the Eve and the Day itself. We'll have a holiday to ourselves and spend it all together.

[What this really means is 'please tell me we won't be completely alone'. It's not something she should fear, the guy didn't even have enough passion to throw her down and fuck her, but all the same she can't help being a little ... Concerned, at times. It's a really weird balance, and she can't pretend to completely understand it.]
