[Futurelandia] An Eventful Valentines and beyond (happy new year)

[ Nathan moved into tow and that was awkward, Yamato and Nariko probably have some sort of a relationship and that's awkward, Yamato's been trying to make new friends so that's interesting, and Masaomi and Nariko are hopefully solid as anything after that trip, Nathan and Yamato complications aside. There's a new pack member that Masaomi met at a party and Nariko met in class. It's been over a month since the new year began and the old one concluded.

A lot's changed and yet not a lot had at all.

And frankly, things were probably just going to change that much more in the coming days and weeks. this might be edited to something more poetic later once we conclude more stuff about that other log ]

[ That's a lame response to him, at least in how she words it. But that little trill of her scent, the whiff of cotton candy which threatens to make his own scent activate as well, that's the real answer, the real reward. His eyes shine underneath her, and he grins that much wider, the depths of those same eyes boring into her own.

This was a promise he shouldn't make before talking it over with Nariko. And maybe Sully too, to be fair.

[Even though an individual's scent was very obviously generated from within the body it really is helpful to break eye contact and she sort of blindly scrambles to one side, literally clawing at the mattress to drag her body from his because everything below her waist would greatly appreciate not moving at all.]

No, I told Nariko I needed the week off and I offered to owe her a favor.

[Which ended up being looking out for Masaomi, though Audrey had immediately volunteered for that aspect before any talk of favors was exchanged.]

[Look, what Audrey wants bought for her is so not the point right now. She takes a deep, calming breathe and dials back a little in order to explain properly.]

Look, everyone was really worried this time around because it's the second time you've been in for something in less than six months. But I sort of thought it'd be weird for any of the guys to try and take care of you, but Nariko made a good point by saying that someone like Junko or Veronica would give in to you easily.

[Neither would have had the sense or control to deny Masaomi once he put his scent to use.] So I volunteered, and Nariko tried to dissuade me and insist Emily do it even though she's got a project for school she's working on. I convinced Nariko to let me keep you company if she'd help me get the week off.

[So it wasn't that he was a favor so much as a general exchange between two individuals. But at least he's got the whole story now.]

[ In the back of his mind he can't help but think isn't Ada the most suited for it then...? But then, Ada also had a job so she probably just had to keep that up. Not that being a student was that much fewer hours all things considered. Still, with a long, tired sounding sigh, and crawls back up the bd so he might flop on his back with his head resting on the pillows this time, spreading his legs a bit so as to not add any more pressure ]

[Ada not only had a full time job, she also had the worst kind of bedside manner. Neither Junko, Nariko, or Audrey could stand the idea of Ada being so serious and straightforward about it so she was kind of bumped out of the running by that triple triad.]

You don't owe me anything, I really do just want you to get better the first time so you don't have to deal with any abysmal setbacks.

[That she's getting something out of it is just cosmetic. If not for all this going on she'd have genuinely asked Masaomi for the break, too.]

[ Apparently, he can still make quips. He closes his eyes, fighting back this strange wave of being tired. Did he get full? No, he's not that full. Maybe releasing his scent is exhausting when he's not used it in a while? Or he just wants to dull the injury?
